Harness - Body - LH (RHD) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open all doors and lower the windows.

    Latch the rear doors to prevent accidental closure.
  2. Put the vehicle on a 2-post lift but do not raise it at this time.
  3. Chock one of the wheels, and then release the parking brake using Toolbox 3. See Parking Brake - Caliper - Rear - LH (Release).
  4. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the liftgate stops from the body.
  6. Remove the load floor. See Trim - Floor - Trunk (Remove and Replace)
  7. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the rear trunk carpet.
  9. Remove the 2nd row LH seat back assembly. See Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the 2nd row RH seat back assembly. See Seat Back - 2nd Row - RH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Release the trunk carpet clips from the body studs under the 2nd row seat cushion.
  12. Release the clips that attach the trunk carpet to the body, and then remove the front trunk carpet from the vehicle.
  13. Remove the upper trunk garnish. See Garnish - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the LH side trunk trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove the RH side trunk trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - RH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Fascia - Rear (Remove and Install).
  17. Remove the clips that attach the LH body harness to the body in the rear fascia and rear subframe areas.

    Number of clips may vary.
  18. Disconnect the electrical harness from the rear Bluetooth passive entry antenna connector.
  19. Disconnect the electrical harness from the rear subframe electrical harness connector and the LH electric parking brake connector.
  20. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body, and then push the rear subframe portion of the electrical harness through the LH side trunk bulkhead.

    The LH body harness passes through the trunk near the rear section of the rear LH wheel liner area.
  21. Lower the vehicle.
  22. With an assistant, remove the vehicle from the lift.

    CAUTION
    The vehicle is safely pushed for only a very short distance and at a very slow speed.
  23. Position wheel chocks.
  24. Open all doors.
  25. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  26. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  27. Remove the RH footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  28. Remove the clip that attaches the RH knee airbag cover to the air duct, and then remove the RH knee airbag cover.
  29. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  30. Remove the LH footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (RHD) (Remove and Replace).
  31. Remove the instrument panel main decor trim. See Decor Trim - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
  32. Remove the glovebox. See Glove Box - Without Knee Airbags (Remove and Replace).
  33. Remove the driver and front passenger seats. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    Make sure to disconnect 12V power during this step.
  34. Remove the center console assembly. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  35. Remove the rear LH sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  36. Remove the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  37. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  38. Remove the LH B-pillar applique. See Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace).
  39. Remove the LH side rail trim. See Trim - Side Rail - LH (Remove and Replace).
  40. Remove the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  41. Remove the RH rear sill trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)
  42. Remove the RH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  43. Remove the RH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  44. Remove the RH side rail trim. See Trim - Side Rail - LH (Remove and Replace).
  45. Remove the RH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  46. Remove the LH and RH rear C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  47. Release the clips that attach the package tray electrical harness to the body in the upper C-pillar area.
  48. Disconnect the package tray electrical harness from the RH body harness connector.
  49. Release the clip, and then disconnect the package tray speaker electrical harness from the tuner connectors.
  50. Release the clip that attaches the package tray electrical harness to the LH C-pillar.
  51. Disconnect the electrical harness from the antenna amplifier connector.
  52. Remove the package tray trim. See Trim - Package Tray (Remove and Replace).
  53. Release the clips that attach the front LH and front RH main cabin carpet to the body, and then remove the carpets from the vehicle.
  54. Release the clips that attach the LH and RH sides of the rear main cabin carpet to the body.
  55. Remove the clip that attaches the LH foortwell air duct, and then remove the duct.
  56. Remove the clips (x3) that attach the LH air wave duct, and then remove the duct.
  57. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH body controller module connectors.

  58. Remove and discard the bolt (torque 10 Nm) that attaches the electrical harness ground strap at the LH footwell area.

  59. Disconnect the connectors from the LH front door harness clip at the LH front body controller.
  60. Disconnect front harness white connector (X909) from the LH body harness and separate it from the front left body controller.
  61. Disconnect Body 1 (J1), Body 2 (J2) and Body 3 (J5), connectors from the LH front body controller.
  62. Disconnect the headliner harness.
  63. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body in the LH lower B-pillar areas.
  64. Lift up the rear portion of the floor duct to release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body.
  65. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body under the front LH seat and RH lower B-pillar areas.
  66. Disconnect the electrical harness from the connectors in the RH lower B-pillar area.
  67. Disconnect the LH body harness connector from the passive supplemental restraint control module.
  68. Remove and discard the bolt (torque 10 Nm) that attaches the electrical harness ground strap to the body in the LH lower B-pillar area.
  69. Release the clips that attach the harness to the body in the B-pillar area.
  70. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH door connector and the front LH seat belt connector.
  71. Release the clips (x7) that attach the LH body harness to the vehicle, near the charge port busbar.
  72. Remove the clips (x6) that attach the 3-phase electrical harness to the charge port busbar.
  73. Release the LH harness branch routed to the LH rear seat belt buckle.
  74. Disconnect the LH body harness connectors (x2) around the lower C-pillar area
  75. Remove the LH seat belt retractor foam.
  76. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body in the LH side curtain airbag and TPMS module areas.
  77. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH side curtain airbag connector.
  78. Disconnect the electrical harness from the TPMS module connector.
  79. Disconnect the electrical harness from LH rear seat belt connector.
  80. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the body in the LH side trunk area.
  81. Disconnect the LH harness connector from the charge port ECU.

    Note
    The LH harness connector on the charge port ECU is located at the RH side of the ECU.
  82. Remove and discard the bolt (torque 10 Nm) that attaches the harness ground strap to the body in the charge port area.
  83. Remove the LH body harness from the vehicle.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
