Car Computer (Info-Ryzen) (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open LH front door
  2. Lower all four windows
  3. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  4. Remove cabin intake upper duct assembly

  5. Remove fresh air intake assembly

    2x studs, Maneuver between cowl and frunk
  6. Open RH front door
  7. Move RH front seat backward
  8. Disconnect LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Remove the glovebox, front passenger knee airbag, front passenger footwell air duct, and front passenger IP air wave duct. See Duct - Air Wave - RH (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  10. Release the clips (x3) that attach the RH front main carpet to the footwell.
  11. Release the electrical harness from the 2x clips on the RH front main carpet, and then fold the carpet back.
  12. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the RH carpet locator bracket to the footwell, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

  13. Place absorbent material beneath car computer to catch any spilled coolant
  14. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  15. Place absorbent material below car computer coolant hose connection points to collect any spilled coolant
  16. Disconnect inner coolant hose to car computer mount

  17. Disconnect outer coolant hose to car computer mount and remove coolant from car computer

  18. Install car computer coolant plug

  19. Remove nuts securing car computer to bulkhead

    4x nyloc nuts (newer vehicles have 6x nyloc nuts), 13mm, 7.1 Nm. If necessary, keep two nuts threaded to hold car computer in place. Discard nuts after removal

  20. Perform the following steps for vehicles with a larger car computer visor:

    The larger visor interferes with the front passenger airbag.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x3 for North America, x2 for other regions) for the front passenger airbag (Figure A).
    2. Remove and discard the patch bolts (x4) that attach the front passenger airbag to the cross car beam (Figure B).
      8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
      Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
      • Torx T30 socket or External Torx E10

  21. Wear an ESD wrist strap and connect the strap to vehicle ground.
  22. Release ground strap from car computer

    1x bolt, T25, 1x nut, 8mm, 3.5 Nm, Nut located on backside, Discard nut after removal
  23. Disconnect connectors on front side of car computer

  24. Release the car computer from the bulkhead.

    With right hand on top of car computer and left hand under car computer, use back of right hand to help push air bag assembly up and towards back of vehicle. Take care to not damage air bag connections or wiring harnesses
  25. Remove car computer visor

  26. Release harness connectors on LH side of car computer

    10x connectors. If equipped, release locking tab, then remove connector body. Connector count might vary depending on car computer version
  27. Release harness guide clip

  28. Release harness clips from top of car computer

  29. Release connectors from RH side of car computer and remove from vehicle

Install

  1. Place car computer into vehicle and connect all connectors

    21x connectors, Use caution not to spill any coolant. Leave coolant plug on car computer till coolant hoses are ready to be installed
  2. Secure harness to car computer

  3. Install car computer visor onto car computer

    4x clips, Make sure all clips are fully seated and visor is properly aligned
  4. Slide car computer into position on bulkhead
  5. Connect glove box USB cable to car computer

  6. Install new nyloc nuts that attach the car computer to the bulkhead.

  7. Remove coolant plug from car computer
  8. Connect outer coolant hose to car computer mount

    1x spring clip, Perform push, pull and push to ensure the hose is fully seated
  9. Connect inner coolant hose to car computer mount

  10. Remove coolant bottle cap
  11. Fill coolant bottle to base of neck as indicated
  12. Remove absorbent material from below car computer coolant hose connection points
  13. Remove absorbent material from beneath car computer
  14. Perform the following steps if the front passenger airbag was released earlier.
    1. Install new patch bolts (x4) that attach the front passenger airbag to the cross car beam (Figure C).
      8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
      Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
      • Torx T30 socket or External Torx E10
    2. Connect the electrical connectors (x3 for North America, x2 for other regions) for the front passenger airbag (Figure D).

  15. Position the RH carpet locator bracket on the footwell, and then install the nuts (x2) that attach the bracket to the footwell.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

  16. Install the electrical harness to the 2x clips on the RH front main carpet, and then unfold the carpet back into position.
  17. Install the clips (x3) that attach the RH front main carpet to the footwell.
  18. Install the front passenger IP air wave duct, front passenger footwell air duct, glovebox, front passenger knee airbag, and all interior trim panels. See Duct - Air Wave - RH (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  19. Connect LV power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  20. Locally connect to vehicle using Toolbox 3.0
  21. Select ‘Actions/Autodiag’ tab and search for ‘Purge'
  22. Select "Coolant Air Purge" and then "Run" once popup opens

    Note
    Make sure vehicle is not in drive state. Coolant pumps will be audible. The test lasts approximately 10 mins. Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine. Monitor levels as required.
  23. Remove HSD or RJ45 cable from Ethernet port to disconnect Toolbox 3.0 from vehicle
  24. Disable Service Mode via touchscreen.
  25. Move RH front seat to original position
  26. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary

    Ensure that fluid level is at Max line
  27. Install coolant bottle cap
  28. Install the underhood storage unit and all other underhood ducting and panels. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
