Front Seat Covers And Pads -1st Row Seatback Shell Assembly (Remove and Replace)

Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Remove

  1. Remove the driver headrest trim from the seat. See Front Seat Assemblies -1st Row Headrest Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  2. Move the LH front seat to most forward and upward position.
  3. Release the strap clips (x2) from the lower section of the driver seat back shell.
  4. Release the clips that attach the driver seat back shell to the driver seat.

    Pull the shell away from the top of the seat, when the side clips are free, pull the bottom and carefully roll the bottom tabs out of the slots.

Install

  1. Position the driver seat back shell onto the seat back, and then fasten the clips that attach the seat back shell to the seat back.

    Install the lower clips first, and then rotate the shell up into position. Apply light pressure to ensure the seat back shell is fully seated.

  2. Hook the strap clips (x2) onto the driver seat back shell assembly.

    Ensure the straps are tight for proper fit and installation.
  3. Install the driver headrest trim. See Front Seat Assemblies -1st Row Headrest Assembly (Remove and Replace).
