Jounce Hose - Rear Brake (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove all four wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Position the oil drain under the rear LH brake hose.

Remove the brake line tube
nut from the brake hose at the jounce hose bracket. Allow the fluid to
drain.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 12 mm socket
- Release and discard the clip that attaches the brake hose to the jounce hose bracket, and then remove the hose from the bracket.

Remove the bolt that attaches the flexible brake hose to the brake caliper,
and then remove the hose from the vehicle.
NoteThe bolt and washers (x2) are captive and cannot be reused. Replace the hose assembly if the bolt is loosened or removed.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 11 mm 12-point deep socket
Install

Position the LH rear
flexible brake hose into the vehicle, and then install the bolt that
attaches the hose to the LH rear brake caliper. WarningThe video(s) included in this procedure are meant as an overview for supplemental purposes only. Follow all of the steps listed in the procedure to avoid damage to components and/or personal injury.NoteThe bolt and washers are captive in the new hose assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 11 mm 12-point deep socket
- Install the brake hose into the jounce hose bracket, and then install a new clip that attaches the brake hose to the jounce hose bracket.

Install the brake line tube
nut to the brake hose at the jounce hose bracket.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 12 mm socket
- Remove the oil drain from under the vehicle.
- Perform a brake fluid flush on the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Maintenance).
