Fender Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
- Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace).
NoteIt is not necessary to remove the valance and harness from the front fascia assembly.
- Remove the LH headlamp. See Headlight - LH (ECE) (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect the side repeater connectors (x2).
- Remove the LH fascia side to fender bracket. See Bracket - Fascia Side to Fender - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH shock tower cover. See Cover - Shock Tower - LH (Remove and Install).

Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the upper LH front fender to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Remove the bolt that attaches the lower LH front fender to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Remove the bolt that attaches the rear LH front fender to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Remove the clips (x2) that attach the NVH cotton, and then remove the cotton from the vehicle.

Remove the bolt and nut that attach the lower LH front fender to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Carefully cut the sealant between the upper LH front fender and the vehicle body with a blade, and then separate the upper fender from the body with a plastic trim tool.
- Remove the LH front fender from the vehicle.
- Use a flat scraper blade and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to remove the foam sealant from the LH outer shotgun panel. Any remaining sealant should be flush with the shotgun panel.
- Apply primer to the LH outer shotgun panel, completely covering the previous foam application area.
- Use a flat scraper blade and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to remove the foam sealant from the LH fender bracket.

Apply primer to the LH fender bracket, completely covering the previous foam
application area.
NotePlace absorbent paper around the fender bracket in order to prevent dripping of the primer.
Install
Tip: For instructions on how to
align the fender, refer to Fender Alignment.
- Remove the absorbent material from the vehicle.
- Load urethane into a caulking gun, and then cut an opening that is 3.5mm wide and 1.5mm tall.
- Apply a dollop of urethane on top of the primed surface of the LH outer shotgun panel.
- Position the LH front fender onto the vehicle.

Install the bolt and nut that attach the lower LH front fender to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Position the NVH cotton between the fender and body, and then install the clips (x2)
that attach the NVH cotton.
NoteEnsure the NVH cotton is flat and in place.

Install the bolt that attaches the rear LH front fender to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Install the bolt that attaches the lower LH front fender to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the upper LH front fender to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 4 in extension
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Install the LH shock tower cover. See Cover - Shock Tower - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH fascia side to fender bracket. See Bracket - Fascia Side to Fender - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH headlamp. See Headlight - LH (ECE) (Remove and Replace).
- Connect the side repeater connectors (x2).
- Install the front fascia assembly. See Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Connect the LV battery power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the vehicle from the 2 post lift. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
