Combination Filter - HVAC (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  2. Remove the RH center console front side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side - Center Console - RH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release the tab at the bottom of the cabin filter cover, and then move the cover aside.
  4. Fold the filter tabs outward, and then pull the upper filter out of the filter housing.
  5. After the upper filter is removed, raise the lower filter up and out of the filter housing.

Install

  1. Install the lower filter into the filter housing, with the arrows pointing to the rear of the vehicle.
  2. Install the upper filter into the filter housing, with the arrows pointing to the rear of the vehicle, and then fold the filter tabs inward.
  3. Install the upper tab of the cabin filter cover in the slot of the HVAC unit, and then install the lower tab of the cabin filter cover.
  4. Install the RH side center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side - Center Console - RH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Check whether the vehicle cabin filter health score requires reset: On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls (vehicle icon) > Software, and then scroll down to display the vehicle software version.
    • If the vehicle software version is older than 2024.14, the cabin filter health score does not need to be reset. Skip to the next step in this procedure.
    • If the vehicle software version is 2024.14 or newer:
      1. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
      2. In the Service Mode menu, touch Thermal (snowflake icon) > HVAC > Right, and then touch Cabin Filter > Reset Cabin Filter Score.
      3. The cabin filter health score is now reset. Continue to the next step in this procedure.
