- 2024-04-29: Added instructions on how to reset tire rotation through the vehicle touchscreen.
Vehicle ride quality and handling are maximized when all 4 tires are the same age, model, and tread depth. Rotating tires regularly allows them to wear at the same rate and increases the service life. Tesla recommends tire rotation every 6,250 miles (10,000 km) or if tread depth difference is 2/32 in (1.5mm) or greater, whichever comes first.
Procedure
- Remove all 4 wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
-
Check if the tires are offset or
directional.
NoteDirectional tires are identified with an arrow indicating the direction of rotation on the sidewall.
-
Reinstall the wheels according to the
type of tires.
- Install all 4 wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- If the vehicle is in Service Mode, exit Service Mode.
- Reset the learned tire estimates and mileage since the last tire service. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Reset.
