BLE Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the trunk.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect LV power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Remove the bolt and clips (x3) that attach the LH rear trough trim to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T20 socket
    • Torx T20 bit
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the rear fascia to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Release the clip that attaches the aft lower section of the LH rear wheel arch liner to the vehicle.
  8. Remove the bolt and the U-nut that attach the rear fascia to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T25 socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

  9. Partially loosen the LH rear fascia away from the vehicle and insert a inflatable air bag, and then inflate the air bag to gain access to the LH rear BLE module.

    Take care not to damage the rear fascia.
  10. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH rear BLE module connector.
  11. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH rear BLE module to the rear fascia, and them remove it from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Fasten the tabs (x2) that attach the LH rear BLE module to the rear fascia.
  2. Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear BLE module connector.
  3. Deflate and remove the inflatable air bag between the LH front section of the rear fascia and the vehicle, and then install the rear fascia back to the vehicle.
  4. Install the bolt and the U-nut that attach the rear fascia to the vehicle.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T25 socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  5. Fasten the clip that attaches the aft lower section of the LH rear wheel arch liner to the vehicle.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the rear fascia to the vehicle.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Install the bolt and clips (x3) that attach the LH rear trough trim to the vehicle.
    1.2 Nm (.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T20 socket
    • Torx T20 bit
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  8. Connect LV power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  10. Close the trunk.
  11. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  12. In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, type "Endpoint" in the search field.
  13. Click on TEST-SELF_VCSEC_X_ENDPOINT-COMMSearch for routine in ToolboxBLE Endpoint Communication Check, and then click Run Networkand allow the routine to complete.
  14. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  15. Reinstall the vehicle firmware. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
  16. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
