Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove all four wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the LH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Position the oil drain under the rear brake line junction block.
  6. Remove the RH rear brake line tube nut from the LH rear brake pipe junction block.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 12 mm socket
  7. Remove the LH rear brake line tube nut from the LH rear brake pipe junction block.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 12 mm socket
  8. Remove the black clip from the LH rear brake pipe junction block.
  9. Remove the nut that attaches the LH rear brake pipe junction block to the vehicle, and then remove the block from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH rear brake pipe junction block to the vehicle, and then place the LH and RH rear brake pipes to the block.
  2. Install the nut that attaches the LH rear brake pipe junction block to the vehicle.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Install the black clip to the LH rear brake pipe junction block.
  4. Install the RH rear brake line tube nut to the LH rear brake pipe junction block.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 12 mm socket
  5. Install the LH rear brake line tube nut to the LH rear brake pipe junction block.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 12 mm socket
  6. Remove the oil drain from under the vehicle.
  7. Install the LH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Perform a brake fluid flush on the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Maintenance).
