Remove
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the cabin intake duct. See Assembly - Fresh Air Gutter - HVAC (Remove and Replace).
- Unlock the gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
-
On the touchscreen, touch
Run to start
the "Start Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain (Coolant Only)" routine.
and select NoteIf the routine takes more than 5 hours, perform the routine again.
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
-
Remove the bolt that
attaches the RH front wheel liner to the skid plate.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Remove the push clips (x3) that attach the lower rear edge of the RH front wheel liner to the vehicle for access to the coolant hose.
- Use a bungee strap to pull back the RH front wheel liner and attach it to the subframe.
Drain
- Position the coolant drain container underneath the RH front side of the HV battery.
- Remove the coolant bottle cap.
- Install the coolant reservoir pressure test adapter onto the coolant bottle.
- Connect the enclosure leak tester onto the coolant reservoir pressure test adapter.
- Release the clip and then disconnect the powertrain return hose.
- Turn both valve knobs on the enclosure leak tester to the vertical position to close the valves.
-
Connect the enclosure leak tester to air supply.
NoteEnsure both valves are closed.
- Turn the valve knob on the right to the horizontal position to open the valve.
- Set the enclosure leak tester to 20 psi.
-
Slowly turn the valve knob on the left to the horizontal position to open
the valve.
CAUTIONHold the ends of the powertrain supply hose over the coolant drain container.
- Close the valves on the enclosure leak tester when no more coolant is draining from the powertrain supply hose.
- Disconnect the enclosure leak tester from air supply.
- Connect the powertrain return hose, then install the clip.
- Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
Refill
- Release the RH front wheel liner from the bungee strap, and remove the strap from the vehicle.
- Install the push clips (x3) that attach the lower rear edge of the RH front wheel liner to the vehicle.
-
Install the bolt that
attaches the RH front wheel liner to the skid plate.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect the enclosure leak tester from the coolant reservoir pressure test adapter.
- Remove the coolant reservoir pressure test adapter from the coolant bottle.
- Refill the system with coolant. See Cooling System - Vacuum Refill.
