Module - Body Controller - LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Replace

Remove

  1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Disconnect the front door electrical connector J7 from the LH body controller.
  8. Disconnect the LH front seat harness electrical connector from the LH body controller.
  9. Disconnect the IP harness electrical connector J10 from the LH body controller.
  10. Disconnect the HVAC electrical connector from the LH body controller.
  11. Disconnect the LV power cable from the LH body controller.
  12. Disconnect the body 1 electrical connector J2 from the LH body controller.
  13. Disconnect the underhood storage unit electrical connector J6 from the LH body controller.
  14. Disconnect the body 3 electrical connector J5 from the LH body controller.
  15. Disconnect the body 2 electrical connector J4 from the LH body controller.
  16. Disconnect the front body controller harness electrical connector X909 from the LH body controller.
  17. Release the clips (x2) that attach the front body harness to the LH body controller.
  18. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH body harness to the LH body controller and A-pillar, move it aside.
  19. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the LH body controller to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 10 mm 12-point deep socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  20. Slide the LH body controller upward to release the W tab, maneuver the LH body controller out from under the instrument panel, then remove the LH body controller module from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Maneuver the LH body controller module into position under the IP carrier. Align the W-clip with the body cutout, and then slide down to attach the LH body controller module to the body.

  2. Install a new bolt that attaches the LH body controller module onto the vehicle.
    4.75 Nm (3.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 10 mm 12-point deep socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  3. Install the clips (x2) that attach the LH body harness to the LH body controller module and A-pillar.
  4. Install the clips (x2) that attach the front body harness to the LH body controller module.
  5. Connect the front body harness electrical connector X909 to the LH body controller module.
  6. Connect the body 2 electrical connector J4 to the LH body controller module.
  7. Connect the body 3 electrical connector J5 to the LH body controller module.
  8. Connect the underhood storage unit electrical connector J6 to the LH body controller module.
  9. Connect the body 1 electrical connector J2 to the LH body controller module.

    Ensure the electrical connector is fully seated, then engage the lock.
  10. Connect the LV power cable to the LH body controller module.
  11. Connect the HVAC electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  12. Connect the IP harness electrical connector J10 to the LH body controller module.

    Note
    Ensure the electrical connector is fully seated, then engage the lock.
  13. Connect the LH front seat harness electrical connector to the LH body controller module, then engage the lock.
  14. Connect the LH front door electrical connector J7 to the LH body controller module.

  15. Install the LH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Connect the LV power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
  20. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  21. Connect the vehicle to a laptop with Toolbox 3.0.
  22. Close the LH front door, open the RH front door, sit in the front passenger seat and then close the RH front door.
  23. Reinstall the software. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
  24. In Toolbox 3.0, perform the following steps.
    1. For vehicles running firmware versions 2023.44 upto, but not including, 2024.8, select PROC_VCSEC_X_SET-ROOT-KEY-TO-ALL-REGIONSvia Toolbox: (link), and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
    2. Click the Actions tab, type "PROC_VCLEFT" into the search field, click , click Run, and allow the routine to complete.

      Note
      Keep the driver seat clear of all objects during calibration.
    3. Click the Actions tab, type "PROC_VCSEC" into the search field, click PROC_VCSEC_X_POST-REPLACEMENT-PROCEDUREvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Low Voltage ➜ Keys ➜ VCSEC Post Replacementvia Service Mode Plus: LowVoltage ➜ VCSEC Post Replacement ➜ VCSEC Post Replacement Procedure, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    4. Click the Actions tab, type "PROC_VCSEC_C_PAIR-NFC-CARD-V2" into the search field, click PROC_VCSEC_C_PAIR-NFC-CARD-V2via Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Low Voltage ➜ Keys ➜ Pair Key, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  25. Close the RH front door and open the LH front door.
  26. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
  27. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  28. Move the LH front seat to original position.
  29. Raise all windows and close the LH front door.
