Center Console - Armrest, Outer, Assembly (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the center console phone dock. See Interior Trim - Center Console - Center Console - Phone Dock - Clip (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    It is not necessary to remove the inductive charger.
  2. Remove the center console end panel. See Center Console - Console Rear End Panel, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH center console rear side panel. See Center Console - Rear Side Panel, LH, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH center console front side panel. See Center Console -Console Side Panel, Carpet, LH, LHD (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH center console décor trim. See Center Console - Hocket Stick, LH, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  6. Repeat step 3 through step 5 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  7. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect LV battery power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect)
  9. Remove the rear end module assembly. See Center Console - Rear End Module, Assembly (Remove and Replace)

    Note
    No need to remove the rear end module from the assembly.
  10. Remove the armrest assembly. See Interior Trim - Center Console - Armrest Assembly (Remove and Install) .
  11. Remove the center console inner armrest. See Center Console - Armrest, Inner, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the center console outer armrest to the armrest hinge, and then remove the outer armrest from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T20 socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. Install the screws (x4) that attach the center console outer armrest to the armrest hinge.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T20 socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Install the center console inner armrest. See Center Console - Armrest, Inner, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  3. Install the center console armrest assembly. See Interior Trim - Center Console - Armrest Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Install the rear end module assembly. See Center Console - Rear End Module, Assembly (Remove and Replace)
  5. Connect LV battery power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect)
  6. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH center console décor trim. See Center Console - Hocket Stick, LH, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH center console front side panel. See Center Console -Console Side Panel, Carpet, LH, LHD (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH center console rear side panel. See Center Console - Rear Side Panel, LH, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  10. Repeat step 7 through step 9 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  11. Install the center console end panel. See Center Console - Console Rear End Panel, Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the center console phone dock. See Interior Trim - Center Console - Center Console - Phone Dock - Clip (Remove and Replace).
