Remove
- Remove the wiper module. See Wiper Module (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the center console assembly. See Center Console (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the IP carrier. See IP Carrier (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH air wave duct. See Duct - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the steering column to the cross car beam, then
lower the steering column and move it aside.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Socket 3/8in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 13mm

Remove the headliner harness clips (x2) on the LH lower A-pillar.

Remove the headliner harness clips (x2) on the RH lower A-pillar.
-
Remove the clips that attach the LH front main carpet to the vehicle.

- Remove the LH and RH cross car beam brackets. See Beam - Cross Car (LHD) (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolt that attaches the cross car beam to the HVAC assembly.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Socket 3/8in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 10mm

Remove the bolt that attaches the cross car beam to the upper cowl.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3/8in Dr. Open Crowfoot Socket x 13mm

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the cross car beam to the HVAC assembly.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- SKT, 1/4" DR, DEEP, 10MM

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the cross car beam to the body.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Socket 3/8in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 13mm

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH and RH cross car beam to the body.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Socket 3/8in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 15mm

Remove the wiring harness fixing clips (x2) from the lower part of the cross car
beam.
-
With assistance, partially remove the cross car beam from the body.
NoteRelease the RH side of the cross car beam for enough space to remove the lower actuator.NotePay attention to the datums (x5).

Remove the screws (x2) that secure the lower mode actuator, disconnect the connector,
and then remove the actuator from the vehicle.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Socket 1/4in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 6mm
Install

Insert the lower mode actuator into the keyway, connect the actuator connector, and
then install the screws (x2) that secure the actuator.

With assistance, align the datums (x5) on the beam with the slots on the body and
install the cross car beam to the vehicle.
NoteMake sure the harness is not squeezed.

Install the wiring harness fixing clips (x2) to the lower part of the cross car
beam.

Install the bolts (x4) that attach the LH and RH cross car beam to the body.
29 Nm (21.4 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Socket 3/8in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 15mm

Install the bolts that attach the cross car beam to the body.

Install the bolt that attaches the cross car beam to the upper cowl.

Position the steering column for installation, then install the nuts (x4) that attach
the steering column to the cross car beam.
