Ambient Lighting Brightwork Assembly - Rear - LH (China) (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the LH rear door panel trim. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
- Place the LH rear door panel on the workbench.
- Disconnect the LH rear door ambient light LED module connector.

With assistance, grind off
the plastic weld spots for the LH rear door panel.
CAUTIONDo not polish the tab near the ambient light.CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the door panel.NoteFor round heat staked tabs, polish in the middle to facilitate removal. For square heat staked tabs, completely polish for removal.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 1453179-00-A: TOOL, KIT, CORDLESS LITHIUM-ION ROTARY, M12
- 1064740-00-A: SCRAPER, RAZOR BLADE
- With assistance, remove the upper trim from the LH rear door panel.
- With assistance, remove the ambient light brightwork from the LH rear door panel.
- Use the blow gun to clean the LH rear door lower trim.
Install

With assistance, install the
ambient light brightwork to the LH rear door panel.
NoteMake sure the labels are in place.

With assistance, install the
upper trim to the LH rear door panel.
NoteMake sure the labels are in place.

Check the clearance between
the trim and the ambient light.
NoteEnsure that the upper trim and the ambient light do not interfere with each other, and the door trim and the ambient light do not interfere with each other. Adjust if necessary.

With assistance. weld the
heat staked tabs for the LH rear door panel.
NoteThe solder joint tools are available in 2 types: round and square. Use the correct solder joint tools for welding.NoteEnsure there is no large gap between the ambient light and door trim plate, and then push down slowly to make sure the weld spot is flat.
- Connect the LH rear door ambient light LED module connector.
- Install the LH rear door panel trim. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
- Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).

On the laptop, click the
Actions tab, type "RGB" into the search field, click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_RGBDOORRLSearch for routine in ToolboxRear Left Door RGB light LIN connection test, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
NoteFor the RH rear door trim, run the TEST-SELF_VCRIGHT_RGBDOORRRSearch for routine in ToolboxRear Right Door RGB light LIN connection test routine.

On the laptop, click the
Actions tab, type "RGB" into the search field, click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_RGBSearch for routine in ToolboxRGB lights auto-addressing and LIN connection test, click Run, and
allow the routine to complete.
NoteFor the RH rear door trim, run the TEST-SELF_VCRIGHT_RGBSearch for routine in ToolboxRGB lights auto-addressing and LIN connection test routine.
- Disconnect the laptop.
- Close the LH front door.
