Remove

  1. Open all four doors and lower all four windows.
  2. Apply masking tape to the area surrounding the LH rear door upper hinge on the body and door to aid in alignment during installation.
  3. Use a jack to support the LH rear door from the bottom.

    Note
    Make sure to use soft material to protect the painted surface.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door upper hinge to the door.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door upper hinge to the body.

    Note
    Support the door hinge to ensure it does not fall in the door jam.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Carefully remove the LH rear door upper hinge from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Use the alignment tape to position the LH rear door upper hinge onto the body, and then hand tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the hinge to the body.
  2. Use the alignment tape to position the LH rear door upper hinge onto the door, and then hand tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the hinge to the door.
  3. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door upper hinge to the body.
    27 Nm (19.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 13 mm socket
  4. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door upper hinge to the door.
    27 Nm (19.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Remove the jack that supports the LH rear door.
  6. Close the LH rear door and check for gap and flushness. Adjust as necessary.

    Note
    Refer to CVIS for current gap/flush specifications.
  7. Remove the masking tape from the door and body.
  8. Clean the LH rear door side upper hinge bolts with IPA wipes.

    Note
    Allow 1 minute for the IPA to dry.
  9. Apply touch up paint on the LH rear door hinge bolts as needed.

    Note
    Shake the touch up paint before applying. Allow the first coat to dry for 20 minutes before applying and second coat.
  10. Raise all four windows and close all four doors.
