Harness - Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace)

Warning
Make sure LV power has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as Restraint Control Module, sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. Remove

  1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  4. Cover the entire driver-facing side of the airbag with protective tape.
  5. Place the driver air bag on a clean working surface.
  6. Release the locking tab and locator clips (x2) that attach the driver airbag harness to the airbag.

  7. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the driver airbag.
