Platter Enclosure Air Leak Test

Correction code 16102000 FRT 0.60 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so. NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. • 1140501-00-A Pack Kit, Enclosure, Leak Test, HV Battery, Complete
  • 1108272-00-B Cap, Logic Conn, Inv, 3DU
  • 1813553-00-A 5-Way Air Splitter

Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
  2. Open all four doors and lower all four windows.
  3. Move the LH and RH front seats fully forward.
  4. Enter the Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  5. Perform Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
  6. Remove and discard the breather plug from the ancillary bay probe lid cover.
  7. Disconnect the HVC logic connector and install a logic cap.
  8. Remove the rear aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove and discard the breather plugs (x2) from the HV battery vent shroud assembly.
  10. Install the air splitter hoses (x2) to the shroud assembly.
  11. Connect the pack enclosure leak tester (1140501-00-A) to the air splitter.
  12. Close both valves on the pack enclosure leak tester by turning valve knobs to a vertical position.
  13. Connect the pack enclosure leak tester to air supply.

    Note
Make sure the pack enclosure leak tester valves are both in the closed position.
  14. Turn the inlet valve to the open position by turning the valve knob to a horizontal position.
  15. Set the pack enclosure leak tester to 0.15 psi.
  16. Open the outlet valve to inject air into the ancillary bay, and allow 60 seconds for the pressure to stabilize to 0.15 psi.
  17. Close the inlet valve and wait 60 seconds for pressure to settle.
  18. Record value of starting pressure.
  19. Wait 45 seconds to test pressure and record value of ending pressure.
  20. Subtract the ending pressure from the starting pressure, and if:
    • The difference is greater than 0.0231 psi, check the hose, adapter, and plug fittings, close the outlet valve and open the inlet valve, check the pack enclosure leak tester pressure, and then retest from step 16. If the difference is still greater than 0.0231 psi, further investigate possible causes for the pressure leak If the cause for the pressure leak can still not be found and resolved, escalate a Toolbox session.
    • The difference is 0.0231 psi or less, continue the procedure.
  21. Disconnect the air supply from the pack enclosure leak tester.
  22. Remove the air splitter hoses (x2) from the shroud assembly.
  23. Disconnect the air supply from the pack enclosure leak tester.
  24. Install new breather plugs (x2) (1108907-00-B) to the HV battery vent shroud assembly.
  25. Install the rear aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  26. Install a new breather plug onto the ancillary bay probe lid cover.
  27. Remove the logic cap and connect the HVC logic connector.
  28. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
  29. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  30. Move the LH and RH front seats back to their original positions.
  31. Exit the Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  32. Raise all four windows and close all four doors.
  33. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
