Jounce Hose - Front Brake - LH (Remove and Replace)

CAUTION
Brake fluid dissolves paint. Have clean towels and plenty of water standing by to wash spilled brake fluid off painted surfaces.
Note
Dispose of used brake fluid in a manner consistent with local environmental codes.

Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove all four wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Position the oil drain under the front LH brake hose.

Remove the bolt securing the LH front
brake hose to LH front brake caliper.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 11 mm 12-point deep socket
NoteThe bolt and washers (x2) are captive and cannot be reused. Replace the hose assembly if the bolt is loosened or removed. -
Remove the bolt securing the LH front brake hose to LH front brake knuckle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 10 mm deep socket

Remove the nut that securing LH front brake line to LH front brake hose.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- ¼ in to 3/8 in adapter
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 12 mm socket

Remove nut securing LH front brake
hose to body, and then remove the hose from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Cordless 1/4in Dr Ratchet
- 10 mm deep socket
Install

Position the LH rear flexible brake
hose into the vehicle, and then install the nut that attaches the hose to the LH front
brake caliper. NoteThe bolt and washers are captive in the new hose assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Cordless 1/4in Dr Ratchet
- 10 mm deep socket

Install the nut that securing LH front brake line to LH front brake hose.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 12 mm socket

Install the bolt securing the LH front brake hose to LH front brake knuckle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 12 mm socket

Install the bolt securing the LH front brake hose to LH front brake caliper.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 12 mm socket
NoteThe bolt and washers (x2) are captive and cannot be reused. Replace the hose assembly if the bolt is loosened or removed. - Remove the oil drain from under the vehicle.
- Perform a brake fluid flush on the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Maintenance).
