Motor - Brake Caliper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Bolts (x2) that secure the LH rear brake caliper motor

  • 5 mm socket
Replace New bolts are provided in the service kit.

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See .
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. On the touchscreen, tap Controls > Service > Towing to place the vehicle into tow mode.
  4. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Release the locking tab and disconnect the LH rear EPB caliper connector.
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear EPB harness bracket to the LH rear caliper.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that secure the LH rear brake caliper motor, and then remove the motor from the vehicle.

  8. Remove and discard the old O-ring from the LH rear brake caliper.

Install

  1. Install the new O-ring provided in the service kit onto the LH rear brake caliper.
  2. Install new bolts (x2) that secure the LH rear brake caliper motor.
    10.8 Nm (8.0 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 5 mm socket
  3. Connect the LH rear EPB caliper connector and engage the locking tab.
  4. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Hold the brake pedal and tap Transport Mode on the touchscreen to disable the EPB service mode.
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  7. Remove lift arms from below the vehicle.
