Motor - Brake Caliper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

    • 2026-10-08: Updated the bolt torque for fixing the motor from 10.8 Nm to 13 Nm.

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Enable Service Mode through the vehicle touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  4. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  5. Enter the EPB service mode through the vehicle touchscreen. See Parking Brake - Caliper - Rear - LH (Release).
  6. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Release the locking tab and disconnect the LH rear EPB caliper connector.
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear EPB harness bracket to the LH rear caliper.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that secure the LH rear brake caliper motor, and then remove the motor from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 5 mm socket
  10. Remove and discard the old O-ring from the LH rear brake caliper.

Install

  1. Install the new O-ring provided in the service kit onto the LH rear brake caliper.
  2. Install new bolts (x2) that secure the LH rear brake caliper motor.
    13 Nm (9.6 lbs-ft)
    Note
    The new bolts are provided in the service kit.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 5 mm socket
  3. Connect the LH rear EPB caliper connector and engage the locking tab.
  4. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Exit the EPB service mode through the touchscreen.
    1. Touch Chassis > Brakes > EPB Service Mode.
    2. Under Parameters, choose BOTH from the EPB Selection drop-down menu and choose STOP from the Action Selection drop-down menu, then touch Run.
  6. Exit the Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  8. Remove lift arms from below the vehicle.
