Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Place the vehicle into EPB Service Mode. See Parking Brake - Caliper - Rear - LH (Release).
  4. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Disconnect the LH rear EPB caliper connector.
  6. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear caliper to the LH rear knuckle, remove the caliper from the knuckle, and allow the caliper to hang from an S-hook.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • External Torx E18
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear brake rotor to the hub.

    Note

    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
  8. Remove the LH rear rotor from the vehicle.

    Note
    Store the rotor face down to reduce likelihood of damage to the rotor face.

Install

  1. Install the LH rear rotor onto the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear brake rotor to the LH rear hub.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
  3. Install new bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear caliper to the LH rear knuckle.
    83 Nm (61.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • External Torx E18
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

    CAUTION
    To prevent damage to the flexible brake hose, make sure that the brake hose can bend forward and does not make contact with the wheel arch liner when the vehicle is lowered.
  4. Connect the LH rear EPB caliper connector.
  5. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Exit the vehicle from "Towing" mode.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  8. Lower the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
