Glass - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning
The side impact airbag deployment depends on the front door sensor's ability to detect a side impact from air pressure. Make sure that there are no uncovered holes in the front door shells. Additionally, always reinstall plugs or tape when servicing or inspecting the front doors and their components.

Torque Specifications

Replace 1101805-00-B

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front door reflector. See Reflector - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH front door tweeter. See Tweeter - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front door puddle light. See Puddle Lamp - Front Door (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the plugs that cover the openings in door for access to the regulator isolator clamps.
  7. Connect the window switch tool to the LH front door electrical harness, and then position the door glass so that the regulator isolator clamp bolts are accessible from the holes.
  8. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the door glass to the regulator isolator clamps, and then remove the door glass from the door.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)

    Replace the regulator isolation clamps, if damaged.
  9. Remove the LH front door glass.

Install

  1. Install the LH front door glass.
  2. Inspect the regulator isolator clamps for glass splinters or other debris, and clean them if necessary.

    CAUTION
    Debris and splinters may damage or shatter the new door glass.
  3. Position the front LH door glass onto the front LH door, and then hand tighten the bolts (x2) that secure the glass to the regulator isolation clamps.

    Note
    Make sure the clamps are not bottomed out on the regulator.
  4. Align the center of the glass with the guide block opening.
  5. Install the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Lower the front LH window fully and close the LH front door.
  7. Raise the LH front window fully by accessing the window switch tool through the LH rear door.
  8. Use the gap and flush tool to inspect the front LH window for proper gap and flush.
    • Gap: 8 mm +/- 1.7mm
    • Flush: 0 mm +/- 1.7mm
  9. Open the LH front door.
  10. If the glass gap and flush is out of specifications: Loosen the bolts that attach the glass to the regulator isolator clamps approximately 1/2 turn to maintain position of the glass but still allow adjustment of the glass, and then adjust the glass to gap and flush specifications.
  11. Once the glass gap and flush is in specifications, hand tighten the patched bolts (x2) that attach the glass to the regulator isolator clamps.
  12. Raise the LH front window fully by accessing the window switch tool through the LH rear door.
  13. Close the LH front door.
  14. Check again the gap and flush of the front LH door glass and make adjustments, if necessary.
  15. Open the LH front door.
  16. Torque the patched bolts (x2) that secure the glass to the regulator isolator clamps
    9.5 Nm (7.0 lbs-ft)

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  17. Lower the front LH window.
  18. Disconnect the window switch special tool.
  19. Install the plugs that cover the openings in the door regulator isolation clamps.
  20. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  21. Install the LH front door puddle light. See Puddle Lamp - Front Door (Remove and Replace).
  22. Install the LH front door tweeter. See Tweeter - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the LH front door reflector. See Reflector - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  24. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  25. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service Mode > Windows > Calibrate Windows, then select Start to calibrate the window.
  26. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
