Tesla Badge - Rear (China) (Remove and Replace)

- 1967006-00-A Chinese Badge Alignment Tool
Note
The badge is not reusable due to the positioning problem. If the badge is removed for any reason, it must be replaced with a new one.
Remove
- Prepare the badge removal tool (1453028-00-A) with approximately 24 inches/60 centimeters of monofilament line.
- Tie slip knots at both ends of the fishing line and attach them each to the center groove of a handle.
- Move the badge removal tool in a sawing motion to separate the Chinese Tesla badge from the trunk lid.
- Use IPA wipes to clean all adhesive residue and debris from the lower left trunk lid surface.
Install
- Adjust the trunk to an appropriate height, install the trunk badge alignment tool (1967006-00-A) into position on the trunk lid and tape the tool in place.
- Peel the adhesive backing from the Chinese Tesla badge, then place the badge into the jig. Align the holes of the protective film to the pins of jig, then press the badge to the trunk.

Remove the protective film from the
badge, and then remove the jig from the vehicle.
NoteDo not discard the protective film, it will be used again in the next step.

Replace the protective film over the
badge, use a pressure roller (1465974-00-A) to fully adhere the badge, and then remove
the protective film.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the badge during the rolling process.

Use an IPA wipe to clean the badge and
the area around the badge.
NoteMake sure that all edges of the badge are securely affixed to the trunk lid surface.
- Close the trunk.
