Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace)

  • 2024-04-16: Updated the front fascia upper bolt torque from 4 Nm to 3.5 Nm; the LH and RH corner bolts torque from 4 Nm to 2.5 Nm.

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the upper portion of the front fascia to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless hex driver
    • 6 in nutsetter + 10 mm magnetic deep
    • Torque wrench hexagon 1060071-00-A (for installation only)
  3. Remove the clips (x5) that attach the LH front wheel arch liner to the front fascia, and then move the liner aside for access.
  4. Remove the bolt that attaches the front fascia to the LH front fender.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless hex driver
    • 6 in nutsetter + 8 mm magnetic deep
    • Torque wrench hexagon 1060071-00-A (for installation only)
  5. Repeat step 3 through step 4 on the RH side of the vehicle.
  6. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the valance to the front aero shield panel.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Torque wrench with angle measurement (for installation only)
  7. Release the clips (x16) that attach the front fascia assembly to the vehicle.

  8. Release the clip that attaches the front fascia harness to the tow hook cover.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pedestrian warning speaker.
  10. Use a clip prytool to release the clips (x9) that attach the front fascia harness to the front fascia, then remove the front fascia harness.
  11. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the valance to the vehicle.

    The nuts are accessed from behind the front of the wheel arch liners.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm socket

  12. Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the valance to the front fascia, and then remove the valance from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T40 socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  13. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the grille to the front fascia.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  14. Remove the clips (x16) that attach the grille to the front fascia.

Install

  1. Position the grille onto the front fascia.
  2. Install the clips (x16) that attach the grille to the front fascia.
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the grille to the front fascia.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  4. Install the valance to the front fascia, and install the bolts (x8) that attach the valance to the fascia.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T40 socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  5. Connect the pedestrian warning connector, and then install the clip that attaches the pedestrian warning harness to the speaker.
  6. Install the nuts (x2) that attach the valance to the vehicle.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)

  7. Install the clips (x9) that attach the front fascia harness to the front fascia.
  8. Connect the electrical connector to the pedestrian warning speaker.
  9. Install the clip that attaches the front fascia harness to the tow hook cover.
  10. Fasten the clips (x16) that attach the front fascia assembly to the vehicle.

  11. Apply a thin bead of Loctite 222 to the threads of the bolts (x4) that attach the valance to the front aero shield panel.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Torque wrench with angle measurement (for installation only)
  12. Install the bolt that attaches the front fascia to the LH front fender.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless hex driver
    • 6 in nutsetter + 8 mm magnetic deep
    • Torque wrench hexagon 1060071-00-A (for installation only)
  13. Fasten the clips (x5) that attach the LH front wheel arch liner to the front fascia, and then move the liner aside for access.
  14. Repeat step 12 through step 13 on the RH side of the vehicle.
  15. Install the bolts (x5) that attach the upper portion of the front fascia to the vehicle.
    3.5 Nm (2.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless hex driver
    • 6 in nutsetter + 10 mm magnetic deep
    • Torque wrench hexagon 1060071-00-A (for installation only)
  16. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
