Motor - Seat Track - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace)

Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the clips (x5) that secure the LH front seat harness.
  3. Pull the LH front seat harness from under the LH front cabin carpet.
  4. Move the LH front seat forward, and then remove and discard the rear bolts (x2) that attach the driver seat to vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  5. Move the LH front seat backward, and then remove and discard the front bolts (x2) that attach the driver seat to vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  6. Tilt the LH front seat backward.

    Note
    No need to disconnect the LH seat harness from the body controller.
  7. Remove and discard the outboard bolts (x2) that attach the seat track to the seat cushion frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 bit
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  8. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH seat track motor connector.
  9. Remove harness clip from seat track motor bridge assembly.
  10. With assistance, release the outboard seat track from the track motor bridge.

    Note
    Pry up on the track motor bridge tab and slide the outboard seat track away to release.
  11. With assistance, release the track motor bridge from the inboard seat track.

    Pry up on the track motor bridge tab and slide the track motor bridge away from the inboard track.

Install

  1. With assistance, install the LH front seat track motor bridge assembly to the inboard seat track.

    Note
    The track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with the inboard track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the inboard track till it is fully and securely seated.
  2. Install the outboard seat track to the LH front seat track motor bridge assembly.

    Note
    The track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with the inboard track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the inboard track till it is fully and securely seated.
  3. Connect the track motor electrical connector.
  4. With assistance, install the harness clips (x3) to the LH front seat track motor bridge assembly.
  5. Install new outboard bolts (x2) that attach the seat track to the seat cushion frame.
    38 Nm (28.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 bit
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  6. Reposition the LH front seat.

    Note
    Take care when moving the seat. Ensure the carpet is not damaged.
  7. Install new front bolts (x2) that attach the driver seat to vehicle.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  8. Move the LH front seat forward, and then install new rear bolts (x2) that attach the driver seat to vehicle.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx Plus T45 socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  9. Secure the LH front seat harness under the LH front cabin carpet.
  10. Install the clips (x5) that secure the LH front seat harness.
  11. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. On the touchscreen, tap Controls > Service > Seat Calibration > Start to calibrate the seat.
  13. Move the LH front seat to original position.
  14. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
