Skid Plate - HV Battery - Rear (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
- Remove the rear aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Use a clip pry tool to release the clip that attaches the LH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate.
- Use a clip pry tool to release the clips (x2) that attach the RH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate.

Remove the lower bolts (x2)
that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- External Torx Plus EP10
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver

Remove the upper nut that
attaches the skid plate to the HV battery.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver

Remove the upper bolts (x4)
that attach the skid plate to the HV battery, and then remove the skid plate
from the HV battery.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- 13 mm socket
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
Install
- Position the skid plate onto the HV battery, then hand-tighten the upper bolts (x4) that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
- Hand-tighten the upper nut that attaches the skid plate to the HV battery.

Install the lower bolts (x2)
that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- External Torx Plus EP10
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Torque the upper bolts (x4)
that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 6 in extension
- 13 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Torque the upper nut that
attaches the skid plate to the HV battery.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 6 in locking socket
- 10 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the RH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate enclosure.
- Fasten the clip that attaches the LH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate enclosure.
- Install the rear aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the vehicle from the lift. See GUID-0ECF2493-88F6-48E9-ADBB-9AE1D52E217C.html.
