Make sure 12V/LV power has been disconnected for at least 1 minute before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as Restraint Control Module, sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. Remove

  1. Remove the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH middle B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH B-pillar impact accelerometer sensor.

    Note
    Pull the red tab away to disengage the lock, then pull to disconnect the connector.
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH B-pillar impact accelerometer sensor to the body, then remove the sensor.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm 12-point deep socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)

Install

  1. Install the bolt that attaches the LH B-pillar impact accelerometer sensor to the body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm 12-point deep socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the LH B-pillar impact accelerometer sensor.
  3. Install the LH middle B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
