Bushing - Front Drive Unit - RH (3DU) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

Place the vehicle on the
2-post lift.
NoteEnsure the vehicle is not charging.
- Remove the front subframe. See Subframe Assembly -Front (Remove and Replace).

Install the bushing removal cups and stud onto the RH bushing, and use cups
K, B and I to drive the bushing out of the front drive unit.
NoteAlways apply torque to the bearing side when removing or installing a bushing. Drive the bushing until the cup and bushing assembly is fully removed from the front drive unit.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Combination Wrench 12pt 22mm
- Ratcheting Combination wrench Fixed head 22mm
- Drive Unit Bushing Kit
- Remove cups and the old bushing from the threaded stud.
Install
- Install the bushing press cups with a new bushing into position.

Use cups L, J and C to press the bushing into the front drive unit.
NoteWhen installing a new bushing, ensure the rubber tab is visible at the top of cup J. Always apply torque to the bearing side when removing or installing a bushing. Press the new bushing in until the flange on the bushing makes contact with the front drive unit case.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Combination Wrench 12pt 22mm
- Ratcheting Combination wrench Fixed head 22mm
- Drive Unit Bushing Kit
- Remove cups from the front drive unit, and inspect the alignment of the RH bushing.
- Install the front subframe. See Subframe Assembly -Front (Remove and Replace).
