Cover- Front Seat Cushion- LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Warning
Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Remove

  1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the driver seat assembly. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - LH (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    It is not necessary to remove the seat cushion button switch, the recliner button switch and the 8 way switch.
  6. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the driver seat inboard side shield. See Side Shield - Inboard - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Maneuver the seat to gain access to the underside.
  10. Unhook the clips (x2) that attach the lower section of the seat back cover and move the seat back flap away from the working area.
  11. Disconnect the seat back heater connector, and then seperate the heater connector from the seat underside.
  12. Disconnect the seat pad heater connector, and then seperate the connector from the seat underside..
  13. Disconnect the seat occupied sensor connector, and then release the clip that attaches the sensor to the seat underside.
  14. Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion to the seat suspension.
  15. Release the clip strips (x3) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame at the front, inboard, and outboard sides.

    CAUTION
    Make sure that the seat cushion heater pad connector and the seat occupied sensor assembly do not catch on the seat suspension or frame.
  16. Position the driver seat assembly in the upright position.
  17. Remove the driver seat cushion foam pad assembly from the seat frame assembly.
  18. Release the strap that attaches the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  19. Remove the Velcro strips (x4) and hog rings (x8) that attach the seat cushion cover to the foam pad, and then remove the cover from the foam pad.

    Note
    Be cautious while release the Velcro strips to aviod any damage on the foam pad.

Install

  1. Install the Velcro strips (x4) and hog rings (x8) that attach the seat cushion cover onto the seat cushion foam pad.

    Note
    Massage the Velcro to make sure the cover and the foam pad are perfectly fit.
  2. Attach the strap that attaches the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  3. Install the seat cushion foam pad assembly onto the seat frame assembly.
  4. Manuever the seat to gain access to the underside.
  5. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion to the seat suspension.
  6. Install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame, and then fasten the clip strips (x3) that attach the seat cushion to the frame at the outboard and inboard sides, and at the front.

    Note
    Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly pass through the seat suspension or frame.
  7. Install the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then fasten the clip that attaches the sensor to the seat underside.
  8. Connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat occupied sensor connector.
  9. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat pad heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat pad heater connector.
  10. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat back heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat back heater connector.
  11. Attach the clips (x2) that attach the lower section of the seat back cover to the seat suspension..
  12. Position the driver seat assembly in the upright position.
  13. Install the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the driver seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - LH (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    It is not necessary to install the the seat cushion button switch, the recliner button switch and the 8 way switch.
  15. Install the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the driver seat inboard side shield. See Side Shield - Inboard - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the driver seat assembly. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
