Procedure
Note
This is an additional
procedure, to prevent NVH issues. This procedure is for the EMEA market. Add
this correction code as an extra procedure to the service activity.
Note
This additional procedure can be performed when the rear brake pads are
replaced.
Note
This procedure is only for the inner rear brake pads on the piston side of the
caliper. It is not necessary to apply tape to the outer brake pads that are
mounted directly to the caliper.
-
Clean the back side of the
inner rear brake pads (x2) and the surfaces of the brake caliper pistons
(x2) using brake cleaner.
-
Apply primer to the back
side of the inner rear brake pads (x2), and then allow 5 minutes to
dry.
-
Cut the NVH stickers (x2) at
the indicated line, to create 80 mm long stickers for the inner rear brake
pads.
NoteDiscard the remaining 40 mm sections. Do not use two small pieces of sticker on brake pads.
-
Align the NVH stickers to
the back side of the inner rear brake pads (x2), and then apply pressure on
the pieces of NVH tape to adhere them to the brake pads.
-
Remove the protective cover
from the NVH stickers applied to the brake pads (x2), and then cut away the
NVH stickers at the location of the holes (x2) of each brake pad.
- Proceed with the installation of the rear brake pads.
