Open hood
-
Power off vehicle from center display
NoteVia Controls > Safety > Power Off, Select Power Off button at warning dialogue box

Remove rear underhood apron

Disconnect LV battery and First Responder Loop
Note2x connectors, Release green locking tab, Press black tab then pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge

Partially release LH front primary door seal
NoteRelease lower section of LH front primary door seal

Remove LH IP end cap
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs

Remove LH upper A-pillar trim
Note6x clips, 1x tether, 2x guide tabs, 1x alignment pin, Pull inside of the upper portion of upper A-pillar, Depress 2x tabs to remove tether from body side, Then pull upper A-pillar upward to remove

Release LH footwell cover
Note2x magnets,1x guide tab

Remove connectors from LH footwell cover
Note1x connector, 1x OBDII connector, Release OBDII connector by depressing tabs from front side

Remove LH knee airbag bolt covers
Note2x covers
-
Remove LH knee air bag bolts
Note4x bolts, EP10, 8.5 Nm, Discard bolts after removal
-
Remove LH knee airbag assembly
Note1x connector, Peel back plastic film, Release by pulling back both white tabs simultaneously, Avoid straining harness, Only one tab visible in image matching tab is on opposite side

Partially release RH front primary door seal
NoteRelease the lower section of RH front primary door seal

Remove RH IP end cap
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs

Remove RH upper A-pillar trim

Remove clips securing passenger footwell duct

Disconnect glove box USB cable from car computer
Note1x connector, Release locking tab then release connector

Remove screws securing glove box to IP
Note4x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm
-
Release glove box from IP carrier
Note10x clips, 3x locator pins, 1x datum, Avoid damage to electromagnetic switch
-
Disconnect glove box connectors
Note2x connectors
-
Remove RH passenger footwell duct from HVAC module
-
Disconnect RH IP air wave duct thermistor connector
Note1x connector
-
Remove clips securing RH air wave duct to IP
Note2x push clips
-
Remove RH IP air wave duct from HVAC module
-
Remove console rear end panel from center console assembly
Note6x clips, 2x tabs, First release the upper clips and then release the lower tabs to remove rear end panel
-
Remove rear bolts securing center console to vehicle
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
-
Remove LH front floor mat
-
Remove LH console side panel carpet
Note11x clips, 2x positioning clips, 1x tab, Use trim tool starting at rear edge to release upper clips, If the clip is too tight, Use prytool to remove the clips, Then pull bottom to release remaining clips, Finally, release the tab and pull out the side panel backward, Replace the clips if it is damaged

Remove LH front exterior bolts from center console
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
-
Remove RH front floor mat
-
Remove RH console side panel carpet
Note12x clips, 2x positioning clips, 1x datum, Use trim tool starting at rear edge to release upper clips, If the clip is too tight, Use prytool to remove the clips, Then pull bottom to release remaining clips, Finally, release the datum and pull out the side panel backward, Replace the clips if it is damaged

Remove RH front exterior bolts from center console
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm

Disconnect harness from rear of center console
Note1x connector, 1x clip
-
Disconnect harness connector from right front of center console
Note1x connector, 1x clip
-
Remove center console assembly from vehicle
NoteRecommend assistance, Tilt rear of console upward, pull assembly towards rear of vehicle, then tilt front of console upward and remove through passenger side, Then Place on the work table
-
Remove screws securing IP lower assembly to IP carrier
Note1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm
-
Remove IP lower assembly from IP carrier

Release spring clip securing driver air bag assembly to steering wheel and pull driver air bag assembly away from steering wheel
Note2x spring clips, 2x datums, Press the spring simultaneously from two access holes to release, Access holes located at 4 and 8 o’clock position, Do not insert tool too far as air bag connector could be damaged

Disconnect driver air bag connector and remove driver air bag assembly

Disconnect steering wheel connector

Remove bolt securing steering wheel to steering column
Note1x patch bolt, 10mm hex, 80 Nm, Discard after removal, Counter hold the steering wheel when breaking bolt loose

Mark the steering wheel to steering column
NoteAlign the marking during installation

Remove steering wheel from steering column
-
Pull upward to release steering column upper shroud from lower shroud

Remove upper screws securing lower shroud to steering column module
Note2x screws, T20, 1.5 Nm

Remove lower shroud from steering column
Note1x locator slot

Disconnect steering column control module (SCCM) assembly connector
Note1x connector, Remove retaining clip on the connector, release connector, then remove the remaining broken clip from connector, Discard retaining clip after removal, Originally installed clip is black, Replacement clip is orange

Remove bolt securing SCCM to steering column
Note1x bolt, T20, 2.4 Nm

Remove SCCM from steering column
-
Release IP service panel from IP
Note4x tabs, 2x guide pins,

Disconnect temperature sensor connector
Note1x connector

Remove bolts securing center display to IP carrier
Note2x patch bolts, 10mm, 16 Nm, Discard after removal, Slide towards rear of vehicle to remove

Disconnect harness connectors from center display
Note2x connectors

Remove center display from vehicle
-
Release clips securing defroster grill
Note9x metal clips, 2x guide tabs
-
Disconnect defroster grill ambient light connectors
Note2x connectors
-
Remove defroster grill from vehicle
-
Remove LH IP speaker
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x connector
-
Remove center IP speaker
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x connector
-
Remove RH IP speaker
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x connector
-
Disconnect connectors for passenger air bag
Note3x connectors, 2 stage locking connectors, Lift the white tab to release the connector
-
Remove screws securing IP carrier to cross car beam near passenger air bag
Note2x patch bolts, E10, 8 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Release IP harness from cross car beam
Note1x slot
-
Disconnect IP harness connector from IP RH side
Note1x connector
-
Remove screw securing IP carrier to cross car beam on upper LH side
Note1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x datum
-
Remove screws securing IP carrier to cross car beam on lower LH side
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 2x datums
-
Remove screws securing IP carrier to cross car beam at lower center
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 3x datums
-
Remove screw securing IP carrier to cross car beam on upper RH side
Note1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x datum
-
Disconnect IP harness connector from IP LH side
Note1x connector, Gently pull out the left instrument panel and lift it to facilitate disconnect the connector
-
Remove IP carrier from vehicle
Note4x guide tabs, 2x tabs, Recommend assistance
-
Remove clips securing RH air wave duct to IP
Note2x push clips
-
Remove RH IP air wave duct from HVAC module
-
Remove clips securing RH front main carpet to vehicle
Note1x clip, Number of clips on new vehicles may vary

Remove bolt securing RH cross car beam bracket to cross beam
Note1x bolt, 13mm, 25 Nm
-
Remove nut securing RH cross car beam bracket to body
Note1x nut, 13mm, 25 Nm
-
Remove RH cross car beam bracket from vehicle
-
Disconnect HVAC connector from LH body controller
Note1x connector
-
Disconnect IP harness J10 connector from LH body controller
Note1x connector, release lock then remove, pay attention on the color and location of the connector
-
Remove harness clip from IP near LH controller
Note1x harness clip
-
Remove the HVAC harness fixing clip from the instrument mount bracket
Note2x harness holding mounts
-
Disconnect IP harness connector from electronic steering column
Note1x connector
-
Remove bracket securing the connector to crossbeam
Note2x Bracket buckle
-
Remove SCCM wiring harness clip from crossbeam
-
Disconnect blower motor connector
Note1x connector
-
Remove blower motor harness clips from cross beam
Note2x harness clips
-
Remove IP harness clips from the top of the cross car beam and release HVAC harness from IP harness
Note4x harness clips 1x harness holder, Number of clips on newer vehicles may vary

Remove UI harness fixing clip from crossbeam
Note1x harness clip

Remove the wiring harness fixing clip from the lower part of the dashboard Cross Car Beam

Remove RH wiring harness from instrument panel mounting bracket
Note2x harness holding mounts

Disconnect IP harness to J10 connector of RH control

Remove IP harness clips from body
Note4x harness clips

Disconnect IP harness connector from RCM
Note1x connector, Release locking tab then pivot lever
-
Remove instrument panel wiring harness from bottom area of center console area and move it aside
-
Remove IP harness from cross car beam
NoteTake note of IP harness routing for installation
-
Position IP harness to cross car beam for installation
-
Install instrument panel wiring harness from lower area of the center console and position it onto vehicle
-
Connect HVAC connector to LH body controller
Note1x connector

Connect IP harness J10 connector to LH body controller
Note1x connector, fully seat connector then engage lock
-
Install harness clip from IP near LH controller
Note1x harness clip

Install the HVAC harness fixing clip from the instrument mount bracket
Note2x harness holding mounts

Install SCCM wiring harness clip to crossbeam
-
Install connector onto crossbeam
Note2x Bracket buckle

Connect IP harness connector to electronic steering column

Install IP harness clips from the top of the cross car beam and release HVAC harness from IP harness

Install screw securing IP carrier to cross car beam on upper RH side

Install screws securing IP carrier to cross car beam at lower center

Install screw securing IP carrier to cross car beam on upper LH side

Position defroster grill into position on IP carrier

Connect defroster grill ambient light connectors

Install lower shroud onto steering column

Install upper screws securing lower shroud to steering column module

Align clips then press downward to install upper shroud onto lower shroud

Align steering wheel to steering column then position it for installation

Install bolt securing steering wheel to steering column
Note1x patch bolt, 10mm hex, 80 Nm, Install new patch bolt

Connect steering wheel connector

Connect driver air bag assembly connector
Note1x connector, Make sure that the driver air bag harness doesn’t get caught between the driver air bag and the horn mechanism
-
Secure driver air bag assembly to steering wheel
Note2x spring clips, 2x datums, Position driver air bag onto steering wheel, Align datums onto clips, Press down on one side of air bag until clip is fully seated, then repeat on other side, You should hear an audible click, Perform pull test on each side of driver air bag assembly, Confirm the gap and space between driver air bag assembly to steering wheel is symmetrical

Install RH IP air wave duct to HVAC module

Install clips securing RH IP air wave duct

Connect thermistor connector RH IP air wave duct
Note1x connector

Install RH passenger footwell duct to HVAC module

Connect glove box assembly connectors

Install glove box into IP carrier
Note10x clips, 3x locator pin, 1x datum

Install screws securing glove box assembly to IP carrier
Note4x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm

Connect glove box USB cable to car computer
Note1x connector, Engage locking tab

Install clips securing passenger footwell duct
Note2x push clips, Ensure that the footwell duct is installed in place

Install RH knee airbag assembly
Note1x airbag connector, 1x connector, Ensure airbag connector is fully engaged, Place plastic film back over squib assembly
-
Install RH knee air bag bolts
Note4x bolts, EP10, 8.5 Nm, Install new bolts
-
Install RH knee airbag bolt covers
Note2x covers
-
Install RH footwell cover
Note2x magnets, 1x guide tab, 1x connector
-
Install RH upper A-pillar trim
Note6x clips, 1x tether, 2x guide tabs,1x alignment pin, Slide bottom of trim along IP and speaker grill, attach tether to body side, Set clips starting at the bottom and work up, Pull seal over trim

Install RH IP end cap

Install seat lower section of RH front
primary seal
NoteVerify seal is seated properly on all trim panels

Install LH upper A-pillar trim
Note6x clips, 1x tether, 2x guide tabs,1x alignment pin, Slide bottom of trim along IP and speaker grill, attach tether to body side, Set clips starting at the bottom and work up, Pull seal over trim

Install LH IP end cap

Install LH front primary seal
NoteVerify seal is seated properly on all trim panels

Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery
Note2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

Install rear underhood apron
Note14x clips, Hold rear wall of frunk to keep from flexing while engaging front clips
-
Close hood
-
Move RH front seat to original position
-
Raise RH front window
-
Close RH front door
-
Move LH front seat to original position
-
Raise LH front window
-
Close LH front door
