Enable Service Mode Via Vehicle Touchscreen

  1. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch CONTROLS (vehicle icon) > SOFTWARE.

  2. Touch and hold the large word "MODEL" for 2 seconds, and then release.
  3. Use the on screen keyboard to type "service" into the access code field, and then touch OK.

    The touchscreen is overlaid with the words "SERVICE MODE" in red. Newer firmware versions have a red border around the edges of the touchscreen UI.
  4. Return to the procedure that required Service Mode to be enabled.

Enable Service Mode Via Toolbox 3

  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  3. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Service" into the search field, click PROC_ICE_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODESearch for routine in ToolboxEnter Service Mode, click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
  4. Return to the procedure that required Service Mode to be enabled.

Disable Service Mode

  1. Disable Service Mode using either a laptop with Toolbox 3 or the vehicle touchscreen.
    • Touchscreen
      1. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch CONTROLS (vehicle icon) > SERVICE MODE > EXIT SERVICE MODE at the top of the Service Mode menu.

        Note
        The red "SERVICE MODE" overlay or red touchscreen border is removed.
      2. Return to the procedure that required Service Mode to be disabled.
    • Laptop with Toolbox 3
      1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
      2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
      3. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Service" into the search field, click PROC_ICE_X_EXIT-SERVICE-MODESearch for routine in ToolboxExit Service Mode, click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
      4. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
      5. Return to the procedure that required Service Mode to be disabled.
