Back Board – Seat Back – 2nd Row – RH (Bench Seat)

Correction Code 13082202 (5-Passenger), Correction Code 13082212 (7-Passenger)

Removal

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Open the RH rear door.
  3. If the vehicle has a 7-passenger configuration, go to step 7.
  4. Open the liftgate.
  5. Remove the rear trunk load floor panel.
  6. Remove the gap hider.
  7. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
  8. Use a trim tool to release the clips at the top of the RH seat belt escutcheon, and then separate the seat belt escutcheon from the seat frame.
  9. Fold down the RH bench seat.
  10. Release the J hook (x1) that attaches the back cushion trim.
  11. Unzip the bench seat cover zippers (x2).
  12. Lift the seat back cover up to access the seat back board.
  13. If the old back board has already been replaced by a new back panel, go to step 11, otherwise, release the clips (x4) that secure the seat back board, and then remove the back board from the seat.
  14. Disconnect the seat heater electrical connector.
  15. Remove the fasteners (x2) that attach the airbag to the seat frame (torque 20 Nm).
  16. Return the RH bench seat to an upright position.
  17. Lift the leather seat back cushion away from the seat to access the top fasteners of the ECU mount bracket.
  18. Release the clips (x2) that attach the ECU harness to the ECU mount bracket.
  19. Disconnect the ECU connectors (x2).
  20. Release the screws (x3) that attach the ECU to the ECU mount bracket, and then remove the ECU (torque 2 Nm).
  21. Release the screws (x2) that attach the seat actuator to the ECU mount bracket, and then remove the seat actuator (torque 2 Nm).
  22. Release the bolts (x2) that attach the ECU mount bracket to the seat frame, and then remove the bracket (torque 7 Nm).

Installation

  1. If a back panel is replacing a back panel, go to step 11. If a back panel is replacing a back board, continue to the next step.

    Note
    The new bracket must be a C-revision or later to work with the new seat back panel.
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the ECU mount bracket to the seat frame (torque 7 Nm).
  3. Install the bench seat actuator, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the seat actuator to the ECU mount bracket (torque 2 Nm).
  4. Install the ECU, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the ECU to the ECU mount bracket (torque 2 Nm).
  5. Connect the ECU connectors (x2).
  6. Install the clips (x2) that attach the ECU harness to the ECU mount bracket.
  7. Return the seat to the upright position, and then install the seat cushion onto the seat.
  8. Install the fasteners (x2) that attach the airbag to the seat frame (torque 20 Nm).
  9. Fold the seat down.
  10. Reconnect the seat heater electrical connector.
  11. Install the new seat back panel onto the seat, and then install the clips (x4) that secure the seat back panel.
  12. Flip the seat trim back over the seat back.
  13. Zip the bench seat cover zippers (x2).
  14. Install the J hook (x1) that attaches the leather seat cushion.
  15. Return the seat to the upright position.
  16. Install the seat belt escutcheon.
  17. If the vehicle has a 7-passenger configuration, go to step 21.
  18. Install the gap hider.

    Note
    If necessary, use a dead blow hammer to lightly tap the gap hider into place so that it is flush with the rear seat panel carpet.
  19. Install the rear trunk load floor panel.
  20. Close the liftgate.
  21. Reconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
  22. Touch and hold the CALIBRATE button on the Model X touchscreen until the rear doors have been fully calibrated, close completely, and the message "CALIBRATION COMPLETE" is displayed.
  23. Close the LH front door.
