Subframe Assembly - Front - 2nd Generation (LHD) (Remove and Replace)

This procedure is for vehicles built after April 24, 2019. For vehicles built through April 24, 219, see Subframe Assembly - Front - 1st Generation (Remove and Replace).

Removal

  1. Remove the 2nd generation front subframe assembly from the vehicle. See Subframe Assembly - Front - 2nd Generation (LHD) (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove and retain the front stabilizer bar assembly from the front subframe assembly.
  3. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the steering rack to the front subframe assembly, and then remove the steering rack from the subframe.
  4. Remove the fir tree clips (x2) that attach the battery pump 2 hose to the front subframe assembly.
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the battery coolant pumps to the front subframe assembly, and then remove the pumps from the subframe.
  6. Remove the front subframe assembly from the powertrain table/subframe fixture.

Installation

  1. Put the new front subframe assembly on the powertrain table/subframe fixture.
  2. Position the battery coolant pumps on the front subframe assembly for installation.
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the battery coolant pumps to the front subframe assembly (torque 12 Nm).
  4. Install the fir tree clips (x2) that attach the battery coolant pump 2 hose to the front subframe assembly.
  5. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the steering rack to the front subframe assembly (torque 175 Nm).
  6. Install the front stabilizer bar into position for installation on the front subframe assembly.
  7. Put the front subframe assembly with the powertrain table/subframe fixture under the vehicle for installation.
  8. Install the front subframe assembly onto the vehicle. See Subframe Assembly - Front - 2nd Generation (LHD) (Remove and Install).
  9. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
