Open LH front door
-
Lower LH front window
-
Open hood
NoteVia center display > Controls > Front Trunk
- Run ODIN routine
-
Remove LH front lug nut covers
Note5x lug nut covers
-
Loosen LH front lug nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm
-
Remove underhood aprons
Note4x aprons, LH and RH aprons have 1x clip each
-
Remove frunk carpet
Note2x connectors
-
Remove frunk assembly
Note10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
-
Remove HEPA filter housing
NoteLift up from bottom and pull out, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration
-
Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
Note1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

Remove LH outer hood hinge cover
Note2x clips

Remove RH outer hood hinge cover
Note2x clips
-
Disconnect cowl drain hose from cowl trim
Note1x clamp
-
Remove RH wiper arm
Note2x nuts, 17mm, 35 Nm, Disconnect washer hose at cowl
-
Remove LH wiper arm
Note1x nut, 17mm, 35 Nm, Disconnect washer hose at cowl
-
Release cowl screen washer supply hose
Note1x one way valve
-
Remove cowl screen from windshield
Note5x push clips, 1x FRL anchor from cowl screen
-
Remove HEPA filter outlet duct
Note1x clip, Remove clip and pull duct towards front of vehicle to remove, May need to lift on cowl panel to remove duct
-
Release frunk fuse box
Note4x tabs, move upwards from bracket and move forward
-
Release frunk fuse box bracket
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
-
Remove wiper motor assembly
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm, 1x connector
-
Release 12V harness from wiper bracket
Note1x clip
-
Remove wiper bracket
Note2x nuts, 13mm, 20 Nm, 2x bolts, 13mm, 20 Nm
-
Release air suspension reservoir from body
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm
-
Release air lines then move air tank
-
Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Remove LH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm
-
Remove rear portion of LH front wheelhouse liner
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm, 5x clips, Reference pictures for clarification
-
Clamp coolant hose from battery pump 2 to chiller
NoteReference pictures for clarification, Move breather hose away for clearance
-
Disconnect LH ride height sensor
Note1x connector
-
Disconnect LH powertrain coolant pump
Note1x connector
-
Remove powertrain pump 2 bracket from off vehicle
Note1x bolt, T30, 10 Nm
-
Disconnect FDU inlet powertrain hoses from powertrain pump 2
Note1x hose clamp, Push hose through wheel arch into frunk compartment
-
Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to the side if both locks are not engaged

Remove LH shear plate
Note2x push clips, 3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 1x nylon nut, 15mm, 35 Nm Discard nylon nut after removal

Remove RH shear plate
Note3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, 1x nylon nut, 15mm, 35 Nm Discard nylon nut after removal

Remove rear aero shield
Note20x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips
-
Remove front bash plate extrusion
Note2x bolts, T30, 16 Nm
-
Remove four center bolts securing HV battery
Note4x patch bolts, E12, 38 Nm, Discard bolts after removal
-
Position battery table beneath vehicle
-
Lower vehicle to table
NoteRecommend assistance, Align table to vehicle and raise casters to level table if necessary

Remove and discard remaining eight center bolts securing HV battery
Note8x bolts, E12, 38 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Remove front four HV battery bolts
Note4x patch bolts, 13mm, 30 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Remove 21mm bolts securing front of HV battery
Note2x bolts, 21mm, 115 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Remove ski side covers on LH side
Note14x clips, 3x covers
-
Remove ski side covers on RH side
Note14x clips, 3x covers
-
Remove LH ski bolts
Note8x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Remove RH rocker bolts
Note8x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm, Discard after removal

Raise vehicle and remove battery table

Move battery away from vehicle
-
Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items
-
Inspect HV insulating gloves

Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves
NoteUse HV cut resistant insulated gloves or HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves, HV Insulating gloves must be worn any time a Hioki Tester or Hi-Pot Tester is used, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003 R5 for PPE requirements depending on vehicle configuration.

Verify no high voltage at HV rapid mate
NoteMake sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Measure B+ to Ground, B- to Ground, B+ to B-, If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering

Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves

Install HV and LV Rapid Mate covers
Note2x covers, If covers not available then use masking tape to protect Rapid Mate from debris
-
Loosen the acoustic cover on FDU
NoteThis will give you some access to the lower coolant hose
-
Place coolant catcher under the vehicle
-
Release clamp from FDU inlet hose
Note1x clamp, Take care to not damage the acoustic cover
-
Remove hose from FDU inverter inlet
NoteTake care to not damage the acoustic cover
-
Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, Then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Remove the fastener from the hose fitting on FDU
Notex1 Bolt, 10 mm, 9mn, Area between fastener and cover has low clearance, Take care not to damage acoustic cover

Remove hose from FDU
NoteHose may need to be wiggled to release
-
Remove coolant fitting from old hose
Note1x Clamp, Record position fitting on hose, Inspect O-ring is not damaged
-
Install coolant fitting on the new hose
Note1x Clamp, Verify fitting is in correct position
-
Install hose fitting onto FDU
NoteTake care not to damage O-ring
-
Install fastener onto FDU
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 9Nm
-
Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Install hose onto FDU inverter inlet
-
Install clamp onto FDU inlet hose
Note1x clamp

Install the acoustic cover on FDU
NoteTake care not to damage acoustic cover
-
Connect FDU inlet powertrain hoses onto powertrain pump 2
Note1x hose clamp, Maneuver hose from frunk compartment into the LH wheel arch liner area

Install powertrain pump 2 bracket onto vehicle
Note1x bolt, T30, 10 Nm
-
Connect LH powertrain coolant pump
Note1x connector
-
Connect LH ride height sensor
Note1x connector

Remove clamp from cabin LH side front hose
NotePump is located by LH front wheelhouse liner, Reference picture for clarification
-
Install rear portion of LH front wheel
arch liner into original position
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm, 5x clips, Reference pictures for clarification

Install LH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool
-
Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to the side if both locks are not engaged
-
Remove HV and LV Rapid Mate covers

Lower vehicle onto HV battery pack
NoteBefore lowering fully use assistance to align the pack using the alignment rods and guide via the boroscope camera or a flexible inspection mirror checking HV and LV rapid mates

Loosely install 4 new front bolts for HV battery
Note4x patch bolts, 13mm, 30 Nm, Install new patch bolts
-
Install outer front bolts securing HV battery to body
Note2x bolts, 21mm, 115 Nm, Install new bolts, Do not over tighten bolts, Torque at later step
-
Install outer center bolts securing HV battery to body
Note8x patch bolts, E12, 38 Nm, Install new patch bolts, Do not over tighten bolts, Torque at later step
-
Install LH ski bolts
Note8x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm, Install new patch bolts, Do not over tighten bolts, Torque at later step
-
Install RH ski bolts
Note8x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm, Install new patch bolts, Do not over tighten bolts, Torque at later step

Torque ski HV battery bolts on both sides
Note16x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm
-
Torque remaining HV battery bolts
Note8x bolts, E12, 38 Nm, 2x bolts, 21mm, 115 Nm, 4x bolts, 13mm, 30 Nm
-
Raise vehicle partially and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Move empty battery table away from
vehicle
-
Install inner center HV battery bolts
Note4x patch bolts, E12, 38 Nm, Install new patch bolts, Do not over tighten bolts
-
Torque inner center HV battery bolts
Note4x patch bolts, E12, 38 Nm
-
Install LH ski side covers
Note14x clips, 3x covers
-
Install RH ski side covers
Note14x clips, 3x covers

Install front bash plate extrusion
Note2x bolts, T30, 16 Nm
-
Install rear aero shield
Note20x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips. Start bolts with cordless, torque with 1/4 torque wrench
-
Install LH shear plate
Note3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, Install new nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm
-
Install RH shear plate
Note3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, Install new nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm
-
Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Torque LH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm
-
Install LH front lug nut covers
Note5x covers
-
Lower vehicle fully
-
Install air tank reservoir.
-
Install air suspension reservoir to body
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm
-
Install wiper bracket
Note2x nuts, 13mm, 20 Nm, 2x bolts, 13mm, 20 Nm
-
Install 12V harness onto wiper bracket
Note1x clip
-
Install wiper module assembly
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm, 1x connector, Metal dowel slides into rubber boot
-
Install fuse box bracket to body
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
-
Install frunk fuse box onto bracket
Note4x locking clips
-
Install HEPA filter outlet duct
Note1x clip, May need to lift on cowl panel to install duct
-
Install cowl screen to windshield
Note5x clips, 1x FRL anchor on cowl screen
-
Connect cowl screen washer supply hose
Note1x one way valve
-
Connect cowl drain hose onto cowl trim
Note1x clamp
-
Install RH wiper arm
Note2x nuts, 17mm, 35 Nm, Align tip of wiper blade to mark on windshield, connect washer hose at cowl
-
Install LH wiper arm
Note1x nut, 17mm, 35 Nm, Align tip of wiper blade to mark on windshield, connect washer hose at cowl

Install LH outer hood hinge cover
Note2x clips

Install RH outer hood hinge cover
Note2x clips

Connect first responder loop and then 12V negative terminal
Note1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm

Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and install cubby
Note1x connector, 2x clips, Ensure diagnostic cables are tucked into appropriate position then engage cubby

Install HEPA filter housing
NoteAlign opening on back of housing to HEPA filter outlet duct opening, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration

Install frunk assembly
Note10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Hand start all bolts first then tighten with tools

Install frunk carpet
Note2x connectors

Install under hood aprons
Note4x aprons

Close hood
-
Calibrate falcon doors via UI
NoteVia Controls > Calibrate, Required after 12V and FRL disconnect

Raise LH front window
-
Close LH front door
