Bracket - Radar - Front (DAS 1/2) (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Using MCU, set suspension to very high and press, open hood.
  2. Exit vehicle and open hood.
  3. Remove underhood aprons.

  4. Release fascia to lower front aero shield.

    11x Push clips, 2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm.
  5. Remove bolts securing fascia to upper grill.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm.
  6. Remove the front T badge.

    2x bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Done to prevent scratching of the front fascia chrome trim.
  7. Turn wheel fully to the right, to gain access to LF wheel liner clips.
  8. Remove front side of wheel liner to gain access to garnish bolts.

    4x Push clips.
  9. Release the LH lower front of fender garnish.

    1x Push clips, 2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm.
  10. Starting from the rear, carefully pull the LH fender garnish away from the vehicle.

    5x Heart flex clips, 1x connector.
  11. Remove the screw that secures fascia to LF fender.

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm.
  12. Pull LH fascia away from fender.
  13. Turn wheel fully to the left, to gain access to RF wheel liner clips.
  14. Remove front side of RF wheel liner to access garnish bolts.

    4x Push clip.
  15. Release the RH lower front of fender garnish.

    1x Push clips, 2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm.
  16. Starting from the rear, carefully pull the RH fender garnish away from the vehicle to release.

    5x Heart flex clips, 1x locking connection.
  17. Remove the screw that secures fascia to RF fender.

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm.
  18. Pull RH fascia away from fender.
  19. Remove fascia by starting on the LH side of the vehicle, release the clips that secure the front fascia by pulling the fascia up and away from the vehicle.

    1x Fascia harness connection, Recommend assistance to hold fascia in place while releasing connection to prevent damage.
  20. Disconnect the radar sensor.

    1x connector, squeeze lock tabs on both sides of the connector and pull straight down.
  21. Remove the radar support bracket from the front of the vehicle.

    1x Wire harness attachment clip, 3x bolts,10mm, 6.5 Nm.
  22. Gently pry up the tabs on the top of the radar bracket. Gently release the radar sensor forward from the bracket.

Installation

  1. Install new radar sensor to the radar bracket.

    Ensure radar is fully seated in the radar bracket prior to installation.
  2. Install the radar bracket with radar onto the front of the vehicle.

    3x bolts,10mm, 6.5 Nm, 1x clip, ensure harness clip is secured to radar bracket.
  3. Make connection at radar sensor.

    1x connector.
  4. Using MCU apply standard suspension level.
  5. Perform Four Wheel Alignment Check and Adjust (with Air Suspension).

  6. Measure vertical alignment of the radar by placing bubble tool along the top of the sensor’s front surface.

    Check the bubble on the long portion of the bubble tool. The radar sensor is calibrated vertically if the bubble is centered between the black lines. If necessary, adjust the vertical set screw until the bubble level indicates vertical calibration has been achieved, labeled 2 in attached image.
  7. Connect the fascia harness and fully seat fascia.

  8. Install bolts securing fascia to upper grill.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm.
  9. Install the screws that secure fascia to fender on both sides of the vehicle.

    2x screws, T25, 1.5 Nm.
  10. Install the Front T Badge.

    2x bolts, T25, 5 Nm.
  11. Install fascia to lower front aero shield.

    11x Push clips, 2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, ensure tabs from fascia to aeroshield are properly aligned.
  12. Install the RH fender garnish.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm, 1x push clip, 1x connector; make sure to fully seat the fog light duct to the fender garnish.
  13. Secure RF wheel liner to fascia and fender garnish.

    4x Push clip, Ensure fender liner is seated behind inner lip of fender garnish.
  14. Turn wheel fully to the right.
  15. Install the LH fender garnish.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm, 1x push clip, 1x connector; make sure to fully seat the fog light duct to the fender garnish.
  16. Secure LF wheel liner to fascia and fender garnish.

    4x clips, Ensure fender liner is seated behind inner lip of fender garnish.
  17. Close hood.
  18. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  19. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  20. In Toolbox 3, click Dashboards > Service Tools > DTCs, and then select the type of DTCs to read.

    If uncertain, click Check All.
  21. Click Read DTCs to display the DTCs.
  22. If necessary, power cycle the vehicle.
  23. Click Clear DTCs to clear the DTCs.
  24. Perform a front radar calibration. See GUID-63D02AAC-4A5F-4F90-AA01-582A1B6EB91C.html.
  25. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  26. Exit vehicle and open hood.
  27. Install under hood aprons.

  29. Close the driver's front door.
  30. Perform vehicle road test.
