Stanchion - Active Spoiler - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the active spoiler applique (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the middle liftgate trim (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the LH and RH side liftgate trims (refer to procedure).

    If removing the RH active spoiler stanchion, it is not necessary to remove the LH side liftgate trim.
  4. Remove the LH and RH catch basin covers.

    If removing the RH active spoiler stanchion, it is not necessary to remove the LH catch basin cover.
  5. On the RH side of the liftgate, disconnect the high mounted brake light electrical connector.
  6. Close the liftgate.
  7. On the RH side of the active spoiler, pull the harness for the high mounted brake light through the hole in the active spoiler stanchion.
  8. Remove the fasteners (x4) that attach the active spoiler to the active spoiler stanchions (torque 6 Nm).
  9. Remove the active spoiler assembly from the top of the active spoiler stanchions.
  10. Open the liftgate.
  11. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the active spoiler stanchion to the hinges (torque 6 Nm).

  12. Remove the LH active spoiler stanchion from the vehicle.
  13. Close the liftgate.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Note
Clean the affected areas before installation.
  • After installation, calibrate the rear spoiler:
    1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
    2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
    3. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "X_Spoiler" into the search field, click PROC_BCREAR_X_SPOILERSearch for routine in Toolbox, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    4. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
  • Make sure that the high mounted brake light functions properly.
