Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (Without 2nd Row Bench Seats) (Remove and Install)
Correction Code 13050101
Note
If the seat is unable to move fully
forward and backward, it is not possible to remove all fasteners that secure the seat.
Refer to Seat Assembly – 2nd Row – LH (With Broken
Seat Track Motor) (Remove and Install).
Remove
- Open all front and rear doors.
- Move the 2nd row seats fully forward.
- Apply painter's tape to the LH racetrack trim to protect it from damage.
- Remove the 2nd row floor mat.
- Remove the LH and RH C-pillar lower trim panels (refer to procedure).
- Remove the LH and RH rear sill trim panels (refer to procedure).
- Apply painter's tape to the center console to protect it from damage.
- Remove the 2nd row rear floor panel (refer to procedure).
- Remove the foam support block between the LH and center 2nd row seats, if equipped.
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle.
- To enable seat install mode, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Seat-Install" into the search field, click PROC_BCREAR_X_SEAT-INSTALL-MODE-ONvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- Move the center 2nd row seat fully forward, if equipped.

Pull outward on the outboard LH podium trim to release the clips that secure it
to the seat.
CAUTIONReplace any broken clips.
- Working from the RH side of the vehicle, pull outward on the inboard LH podium trim to release the clips that secure it to the seat.

Using a pick or similar tool, peel back the carpet from the front sliding panel
to access the screws underneath.
NoteThis carpet is a one time use component. Ensure that a new carpet is installed during reinstallation.

Remove the screws that secure the front sliding panel to the seat tracks (torque
2.5 Nm).
- Release the sliding panel from the seat tracks.
- Move the LH 2nd row seat fully forward.

Remove the bolts that secure the rear of the seat tracks.
- Move the RH 2nd row seat fully rearward.

Release the fasteners that secure the LH outboard support bracket (torque 2.5
Nm).
- Remove the rocker duct.

Remove and discard the bolts that secure the front of the seat tracks.

Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
WarningWait at least 2 minutes before continuing to allow the airbag circuits to fully discharge.

Release the clip that secures the harnesses to the bracket in front of the
seat.

Working from the bottom of the harness block, use a pick or similar tool to
release the locking tabs to disconnect the small yellow and gray connectors.
- Working from the top of the harness block, disconnect the large black harness.
- Prepare a padded surface for the seat when it is removed in the next step.
- With an assistant, carefully remove the seat from the vehicle and place it on the padded surface with the outboard side of the seat facing up.
Installation
Warning
Ensure that 12V is
still disconnected.
- Remove the carpet from the front sliding panel, then remove any remaining adhesive residue from the front sliding panel.
- Vacuum debris from the floor area.

Check the threads for damage:
- Positions 1-4: If any threads are damaged, send the vehicle to a Tesla Approved Body Shop to have the nut plate(s) replaced.
- Positions 5 & 6: If any holes are damaged, install a rivnut.
- Position the seat in the vehicle.
- Reconnect the seat harnesses.
- Reconnect 12V power.
- Reconnect to Toolbox 3.
- To enable seat install mode, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Seat-Install" into the search field, click PROC_BCREAR_X_SEAT-INSTALL-MODE-ONvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- Move the LH 2nd row seat fully forward.

Loosely install the bolts for the rear of the seat.
- Move the LH 2nd row seat fully rearward.

Install new bolts for the front of the seat in the following order (torque 33
Nm):
- Move the LH 2nd row seat fully forward.

Fully torque the bolts for the rear of the seat in the following order.
- Bolts 1-4: 33 Nm
- Bolts 5 & 6: 22 Nm
- To disable seat install mode, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Seat-Install" into the search field, click PROC_BCREAR_X_SEAT-INSTALL-MODE-OFFvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "PROC_BCS2L" in the search field, click PROC_BCS2L_R2-L_CALIBRATE-S2L-PITCHvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "PROC_BCS2L" in the search field, click PROC_BCS2L_R2-L_CALIBRATE-S2L-TRACKvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- Install a new carpet at the base of the seat.
- Reinstall all components that were removed for access.
