Module - Central Body Controller - BCCEN (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 17152602

Removal

  1. Unpair all keys. See Key Fob - Unpair.
  2. Open the RH front and rear doors.
  3. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  5. Remove the RH closeout extension. See Closeout Extension - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim pane. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Fold back the carpet in the passenger side footwell.
  8. Remove the RH false floor from the vehicle.
  9. Release the clips (x2) that attach the electrical harness to the central body controller module.
  10. Disconnect the electrical harnesses from the central body controller module connectors (x8).
  11. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the central body controller module to the body (torque 5 Nm), and then remove the module from the vehicle.

Installation

  1. Install the central body controller module onto the body, and then install the nuts (x3) that attach the module to the body (torque 5 Nm).
  2. Connect the electrical harnesses to the central body controller module connectors (x8).
  3. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the electrical harness to the central body controller module.
  4. Connect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  5. On the touchscreen, tap Controls > Calibrate to calibrate the falcon doors.
  6. Request partial software reinstall. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.

    Note
    Vehicle will send a request to Tesla server for reinstallation of current firmware. Yellow clock installation icon should appear within 5 minutes.
  7. Update the vehicle firmware concurrent to installing components that were removed for access. See Firmware Update.
  8. Install the fir tree clips (x2) and the metal fan clips (x2) which secure the foam floor support.
  9. Unfold the carpet in the passenger side footwell.
  10. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim pane. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the RH closeout extension. See Closeout Extension - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  13. Use a multimeter to confirm battery voltages on new fob keys are sufficient for procedure.

    Battery voltages of new keys should be 2.9V or greater.

    Do not re-insert the battery until after starting the toolbox routine at a later step.
  14. Connect a laptop to the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and then use Toolbox 3 to locally connect to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  15. Unlock the vehicle gateway for diagnostic communication, if not already unlocked. See Gateway Unlock.
  16. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "BCCEN_x_provisioning" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_PROVISIONINGSearch for routine in ToolboxProvision BCCEN, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  17. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "immobilizer reset" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_IMMOBILIZER-RESETSearch for routine in ToolboxImmobilizer Reset, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  18. Pair all keys. See Key Fob - Program.
  19. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Calibrate-Steering-Column" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_CALIBRATE-STEERING-COLUMNSearch for routine in ToolboxCalibrate Steering Column, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  20. If necessary, use the touchscreen to recalibrate the rear doors.
