Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Open both LH doors.
  2. Pull back the lower seal at the bottom of the B-pillar applique.
  3. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the lower part of the B-pillar applique.
  4. Slide the Assembly Wedge Part L behind the LH B-pillar applique seal, and then twist to release the clip.

    The clip is located approximately 80 mm below the camera lens opening.
  5. Move the B-pillar applique downwards to release the upper tab, and then pull the LH B-pillar applique away from the body.

    CAUTION
    The camera harness does not have much slack.
  6. Hold the LH B-pillar trim panel away from the body, and then disconnect the camera electrical connector.
  7. Pull the B-pillar applique seal away from the LH B-pillar applique to release the seal, and then remove the LH B-pillar applique from the vehicle.

    Start at the top of the LH B-pillar applique and work around it.

Installation

  1. Attach the LH B-pillar seals to the LH B-pillar trim panel.

    Use P-80 emulsifier to assist with the seal installation.
  2. Connect the camera electrical connector.
  3. Install the LH B-pillar applique by first inserting the top tab, and then pushing up to attach the lower clip.

    Make sure that the top of the LH B-pillar applique is positioned behind the upper seal.
  4. Pull back the lower seal at the bottom of the B-pillar applique.
  5. Install the screws (x2) that attach the lower part of the B-pillar applique (torque 3 Nm).
  6. Attach the lower portion of the seal into position.
  7. Inspect the LH B-pillar applique seal to make sure it is fully seated, and adjust if necessary.
  8. Attach the top triangle portion of the LH B-pillar applique seal into position against the body.
  9. Close both LH doors.
  10. If the vehicle is equipped with a camera:
    1. In Toolbox 3, select the Dashboards tab, select DAS Tools, select DAS Clear Calibration, and then click Clear Calibration Pillars. The routine will start right away.
    2. In Toolbox 3, select the Dashboards tab, select DAS Tools, select Display DAS Images, and then click Capture Image. The routine will start right away.
    3. Verify that the newly installed camera is able to capture the image by looking at the view for the respective camera (L-pillar or R-pillar).
    4. Inform the customer that manual driving is required to allow the camera to self-calibrate.

      Self-calibration can take up to 100 miles (160 km) of manual driving, depending upon the road type and condition. Until self-calibration is complete, the message "Autopilot Features Currently Unavailable: Manual Driving Required While Camera Is Calibrating" is displayed if an attempt is made to engage an Autopilot feature.
