Camera - Rear View (Remove and Replace)

Removal

Whenever a camera has been moved out of its original position (for example, a camera or windshield replacement), camera calibration data must be cleared using the vehicle touchscreen: Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration.
  1. Remove the middle liftgate trim (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the liftgate applique (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the screws (x4) that secure the liftgate applique bracket (torque 4 Nm).
  4. Reach inside the LH side of the liftgate and disconnect the backup camera harness.

    Note
    At this point in the procedure, the camera is still attached to the applique bracket.
  5. Remove the liftgate applique bracket from the vehicle.
  6. Pull the camera harness through the opening in the liftgate body.
  7. Release the screws (x2) that secure the camera to the liftgate applique bracket (torque 2.8 Nm).

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Follow the directions in the installation section of the liftgate applique procedure to ensure proper adhesion (refer to procedure).
  • Verify the rear-view camera operation.
    1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
    2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
    3. Go to Dashboards > Service Tools > DAS Clear Calibration > Clear Calibration Backup.
    4. Go to Dashboards > Service Tools > View DAS images > Image Capture.
    5. Verify that the newly installed camera is able to capture the image by looking at the view for the rear-view camera.
    6. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
