Rear Door Hinge - Secondary - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 11338502

Removal

  1. Remove the front and rear LH primary rear door struts (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the front and rear LH secondary rear door struts (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the LH rear upper door glass (refer to procedure).
  4. Mark the location of the LH front secondary hinge on the upper door and lower door.

    Note
    This helps to install the new secondary hinge into the same place.
  5. Remove the bolts that secure the secondary hinge to the lower door (torque 22 Nm).
  6. Remove the bolts that secure the hinge to the upper door (torque 30 Nm).

    Note
    The center bolt might be secured with a nut.
  7. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  • Use the marks made in the Removal section to align the new hinge in the same location as the old hinge.
  • Touch and hold the CALIBRATE button on the Model X touchscreen until the rear doors have been fully calibrated, close completely, and the message "CALIBRATION COMPLETE" is displayed.
