Motor - Seat Tilt - Driver's Seat (Remove and Replace)

Removal
- Remove the driver's seat . See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove front screw securing LH
outer seat trim assembly
NoteT20, 4 Nm

Remove partially LH outer seat
trim assembly
Note1x clip, Do not fully remove, possible damage to the trim/switch pack/harness
-
Rotate the seat to gain access to
the underside of the seat
NotePlace fender cover to protect seat cushion from damage
- Disconnect the seat tilt motor connector and harness.

Remove the outboard nuts (x3)
that secure the seat tilt motor to the seat (torque 7.5 Nm).

Remove the inboard screw that
secures the seat tilt motor to the seat frame (torque 16 Nm).

Remove the seat tilt motor.
Installation

Position the tilt motor to seat cushion frame for installation.

Install the outboard nuts (x3) that secure the seat tilt motor to the seat
(torque 7.5 Nm).

Install the inboard screw that secures the seat tilt motor to the seat frame
(torque 16 Nm).
- Connect the seat tilt motor connector and harness.
- Rotate the seat back to the upright position.

Install partially LH outer seat trim assembly.

Install front screw securing LH outer seat trim assembly.

- Install the driver's seat . See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).

Replacement front seat assemblies and seat cushion frame assemblies procured after June 2024 are equipped with a newly-designed Tesla "mini-tilt" motor, and replacing these parts (or the tilt motor itself) might require a configuration change. Review the configuration information in the table and perform the following substeps if a configuration update is needed.
- Access the Vehicle Configuration section of the Infotainment Dashboard. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change).
- Update cfg_frontSeattype according to the combination of tilt motors described in the table.
