ECU Box (Remove and Install)

Correction Code 17157001

Remove

  1. Remove the wiper motor assembly:
    • LHD vehicles: Refer to procedure 17502502
    • RHD vehicles: Refer to procedure 17502702
  2. Release the fir tree clips that secure the 12V harness to the rear of the fusebox bracket.
  3. Release the screws that secure the fusebox bracket to the body (torque 7 Nm).
  4. Gently pull the fusebox forward.
  5. Release the 2 clips that secure the fuse box harness.
  6. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the wiper mount bracket to the crossbeam (torque 20 Nm).
  7. Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the wiper mount bracket to the studs on the bulkhead (torque 20 Nm).
  8. Remove the wiper mount bracket from the vehicle.
  9. If equipped, release the 2 clips that secure LHF air suspension line.
  10. If equipped, release the 4 nuts that secure the air suspension reservoir (torque 6 Nm).
  11. If equipped, slide the air suspension reservoir to the LH side of the vehicle, then pull it into the underhood area.
  12. Release the harness clip from the ECU box.
  13. Release the 3 bolts that secure the ECU box to the firewall (torque 6 Nm). Gently pull the ECU forward but do not attempt to remove it at this time.
  14. Release the screw that secures the ECU box cover (torque 3 Nm).
  15. Depress the 2 tabs to remove the ECU box cover.
  16. Disconnect all harnesses inside the ECU box.
  17. Remove the ECU box from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
