Nut Plate - 2nd Row Seat - Front (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the B-Pillar lower trim (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the 2nd row front floor panel (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the LH and RH outer 2nd row seats (refer to procedure).
  4. Remove the center 2nd row seat (refer to procedure).
  5. Remove the foam spacers.
  6. Use a drill with a 3/16 in (4.5 mm) bit to drill out the rivets that attach the nut plate to the rear seat front crossmember.
  7. Use a screwdriver or similar tool to push the nut plate to the outboard side of the vehicle.
  8. Remove and discard the original nut plate.

Installation

  1. Bend the new nut plate to approximately the shape of the original nut plate after removal to enable the new nut plate to be installed.
  2. Slide the new nut plate into the rear seat front crossmember and push it into position.
  3. Temporarily install bolts in the bolt holes shown and tighten them enough to hold the nut plate in position.

    CAUTION
    If the original 2nd row seat mounting bolts are undamaged, they can be used to hold the nut plate in position. Make sure to always use new bolts when installing the 2nd row seats.
  4. Insert pop rivets.
  5. Install the pop rivets.
  6. Remove the bolts.
  7. Reinstall the parts that were removed for access.
