Pipes - High/Low Pressure - Condenser to Chiller (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate activity to the Service Visit.

Removal

  1. Air suspension vehicles: Set the suspension to the "High" setting.
  2. Remove the cooling fan module (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the bolts (x4) that secure the plastic support beam to the body of the vehicle (torque 6.5 Nm).

    Note
    Do not attempt to remove the plastic support beam from the vehicle.
  4. Carefully pull the plastic support beam forward to gain access to the high/low pressure pipes.
  5. Disconnect the pressure sensor electrical connector.
  6. Remove the nut that secures the condenser-to-chiller high pressure pipe to the charge port high pressure pipe (torque 10 Nm).
  7. Remove the nut that secures the condenser-to-chiller low pressure pipe to the charge port low pressure pipe (torque 20 Nm).
  8. Remove the nut that secures the condenser-to-chiller high/low pressure pipes bracket to the body of the vehicle (torque 5.5 Nm).
  9. Remove the nut that secures the condenser-to-chiller high/low pressure pipes to the EXV valve (torque 12 Nm).
  10. Remove the condenser-to-chiller high/low pressure pipes from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Inspect the O-rings. Replace as necessary.

Lubricate new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil.
