Note
This procedure for the Receiver Dryer and Desiccant (Add-On) (Remove and Replace) is to be used when, while working on the refrigerant system where the refrigerant is recovered, it is found that the receiver dryer and desiccant need to be replaced. Add correction code 18202032 as a separate correction within the same activity to the Service Visit.
Equipment:
  • 1081547-00-B - SMALL SLIDE HAMMER
  • 1145232-00-A - TOOL, DESSICANT FILTER, MODEL 3

Remove

  1. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the 4 bolts and 6 clips that secure the lower front fascia to the front fascia, and then remove the lower front fascia.
  3. Use a Torx T50 to remove the cover from the LH side of the condenser (torque 4 Nm).
  4. Remove the snap ring from the condenser. Discard the snap ring.

    Wear the Face Shield throughout the entire process to protect against foreign objects flying out under pressure.
  5. Use the small slide hammer to pull out the inner plug. Discard the inner plug.

  6. Remove the desiccant bag.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Install a new desiccant bag and a new plug immediately to prevent ingress of dirt and moisture.

Do not reuse the plug, O-ring, or snap ring.
