Ground Strap - Small Rear Drive Unit (Remove and Replace)

  • 2026-08-27: Released new procedure.

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the rear aero shield panel. See .
  3. Remove and discard the bolt (1008770-00-A) that attaches the ground strap to the rear drive unit.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
  4. Remove the nut that attaches the ground strap to the vehicle body, and then remove the ground strap from the vehicle.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
CAUTION
Replace all patchbolt(s).
