EXV - Chiller (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 18206002

Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant from the vehicle, see A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  4. Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect the chiller EXV electrical connector.
  6. Remove the nut that attaches the AC lines to the chiller EXV.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  7. Remove the AC lines from the chiller EXV.

    Note
    It may be necessary to apply force to free the lines form the EXV.
  8. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the chiller EXV to the chiller, and then remove the EXV from the chiller.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Robertson S2 Bit 1/4in Square Drive

Installation

  1. Install new O-rings (x2) (1010832-00-A) to the EXV.
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the chiller EXV to the chiller.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    • Robertson S2 Bit 1/4in Square Drive
  3. Install the AC lines to the chiller EXV.
  4. Install the nut that attaches the AC lines to the chiller EXV.t
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

    • 10 mm deep socket
  5. Connect the chiller EXV electrical connector.
  6. Install the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  7. Connect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  8. Recharge the refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
