Cladding - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal
- Remove the LH rear door closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).

If necessary, disconnect the
electrical harness from the LH rear door cladding sensor connector inside
the door.

Use a trim tool to release
the clips (x4) that attach the LH rear door cladding to the LH rear
door.
- Remove the LH rear door cladding from the vehicle.
Installation
- Use an alcohol wipe to clean the affected area of the LH rear door.

If installing the same LH
rear door cladding removed, remove the tape from the long and short edges,
use an alcohol wipe to clean any residue, allow a minute to dry, and then
apply new tape to the cladding.
- Remove the tape backing.

Position the LH rear door cladding to the LH rear door.
- If reinstalling a LH rear door cladding with a sensor, pass the cladding harness and connector in through the opening in the LH rear door.

Fasten the rearmost clip of
the LH rear door cladding first, then fasten the remaining clips (x3),
working towards the front of the door.
CAUTIONFailure to fasten the rearmost clip first can result in poor seating of the cladding.
- Press firmly on the LH rear door cladding using a silicone seam roller to completely wet out the tape.

If reinstalling a LH rear door cladding with a sensor, connect the LH rear
door electrical harness to the cladding sensor connector.
- If replacing an old LH rear door cladding having a sensor with a new LH rear door cladding not having a sensor, refer to Service Bulletin SB-21-12-005 for further steps.
- Ensure proper operation of the rear door prior to reinstalling the LH rear door closeout panel.
- Install the LH rear door closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
