1. Open LH front door

   

2. Lower LH front window

   

3. Open LH falcon door, hood and liftgate
   Note

   Via UI > Controls > Front Trunk, Trunk, LH Falcon Door

   

   

4. Remove LH rear welcome plate
   Note

   8x clips

   

   

5. Apply tape to LH racetrack
   Note

   Needed to avoid damage on the racetrack

   

6. Remove front screw securing LH lower C-pillar
   Note

   1x screw, T25, 2.5 Nm, Discard patch bolt

   

7. Remove rear load floor

   

8. Remove trunk board

   

9. Remove trunk floor carpet

   

10. Remove LH trunk sill side trim
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

11. Remove RH trunk sill side trim
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

12. Remove trunk sill trim
    Note

    4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Discard patch bolts after removal

    

    

    

13. Remove rear load floor support
    Note

    4x push clips, 2x clips

    

14. Remove screw securing LH C-pillar mid trim
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm

    

15. Release clips securing LH C-pillar mid trim and remove
    Note

    9x clips

    

    

16. Release LH upper C-pillar trim panel
    Note

    1x patch bolt, T25, 3 Nm, 3x screws, T20, 2 Nm, Discard patch bolt after removal

    

17. Remove LH upper C-pillar trim panel
    Note

    6x clips, 2 clips along front edge and 4 clips along top edge

    

    

18. Remove screws securing C-pillar lower panel to LH parcel shelf support
    Note

    2x screws, T20, 2 Nm

    

19. Remove LH C-pillar lower panel
    Note

    14x clips, 1x magnet

    

    

20. Release load floor support from LH trunk side carpet
    Note

    3x tabs, 1x clip

    

21. Release LH rear trunk side carpet panel from bracket
    Note

    5x push clips, One is hidden between 3rd row seat and trunk side carpet panel

    

    

22. Disconnect 12v power outlet
    Note

    1x connector, Pull up the tie down loop and pull the rear portion of the trunk side carpet out for access

    

23. Remove LH trunk side carpet panel
    Note

    2x connectors, Disconnect trunk light and 12V outlet connectors before removal, Pull rear lower corner of LH trunk side carpet panel out and downwards to remove panel

    

    

    

24. Remove LH mid-zone C-pillar bracket from vehicle
    Note

    2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, 2x edge clips, Edge clips secure chargeport release cables to bracket

    

    

25. Remove LH lower zone C-pillar bracket from vehicle
    Note

    2x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 2x push clips

    

26. Remove LH minion bracket
    Note

    2x clips

    

27. Remove charger duct
    Note

    Release from plastic ducts at top and bottom

    

    

28. Remove underhood aprons
    Note

    4x aprons, LH and RH aprons have 1x clip each

    

29. Remove frunk carpet
    Note

    2x connectors

    

    

30. Remove frunk assembly
    Note

    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm

    

    

    

    

31. Remove HEPA filter housing
    Note

    Lift up from bottom and pull out, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration

    

    

32. Disconnect 12V negative terminal
    Note

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

33. Disconnect first responder loop
    Note

    1x connector, push to release

    

34. Verify operation of multimeter
    Note

    Set multimeter to DC voltage, Confirm multimeter is properly measuring voltage by testing the 12v battery

    

35. Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items

    

36. Inspect HV insulating gloves
    Note

    Check gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves. https://service.teslamotors.com/documents?model=&keys=TN-15-92-003&vehicle_system=&sort_by=field_date_submitted&sort_order=DESC

    

37. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves
    Note

    Use HV cut resistant insulated gloves or HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves, HV Insulating gloves must be worn any time a Hioki Tester or Hi-Pot Tester is used, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003 R5 for PPE requirements depending on vehicle configuration.

    

38. Verify there is no high voltage present at the charge port on the type 2 (AC charge inlet)
    Note

    Make sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Be sure to place the positive test lead on the side of the HV pin just past the plastic protective covers Measure the the voltage between the four dead front pins to each other and then between B+ (the four dead front pins) to B- (use trunk striker bolt as a ground for the isolation check), If voltage is greater than 10V, pack contactors are welded or not open, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering

    

    

    

39. Release charge port connection to charge port
    Note

    1x connector, Carefully remove white locking tab, Depress tab to release connection from the charge port, Continue to pull off connector, The connection is intended to disengage the safety cap when released

    

    

40. Disconnect AC 3PH inlet connector from charge port
    Note

    1x connector, Release locking tab upward

    

    

41. Install silicone rubber to AC 3 phase connector
    Note

    4x patch, Cut silicone rubber, 10mm section, tear off back glue, and then neatly stick to specified area of connector

    

    

    

    

42. Secure AC 3PH inlet connector to chargeport
    Note

    Ensure lock is fully engaged

    

43. Secure AC HV harness inlet harness connector to chargeport
    Note

    Ensure white locking tab is engaged for connector x646

    

44. Reinstall LH rear charger duct
    Note

    Secure to plastic ducts at top and bottom

    

    

45. Install LH minion bracket
    Note

    3x clips

    

46. Install lower zone C-pillar bracket to vehicle
    Note

    2x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 2x push clips

    

47. Install LH mid zone C-pillar bracket and install fasteners
    Note

    2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, Secure 2x edge clips for charge port release cables

    

    

48. Reinstall LH trunk side carpet panel
    Note

    2x connectors, Reconnect trunk light and 12V outlet connectors before positioning panel. Use caution not to pinch Rear PTC harness (see picture)

    

    

    

    

49. Install clips securing the trunk side carpet to vehicle
    Note

    5x push clips

    

50. Install LH trunk side load floor support
    Note

    3x tabs, 1x clip

    

51. Install rear load floor support
    Note

    4x push clips, 2x clips

    

52. Reinstall front lower carpet trim panel
    Note

    Secure 3rd row seat wiring harnesses to panel

    

53. Install trunk board

    

54. Install LH lower C-pillar
    Note

    14x clips, 1x magnet

    

    

55. Install screws securing C-pillar lower panel to LH parcel shelf support
    Note

    2x screws, T20, 2 Nm

    

56. Install bolt securing front of LH lower C-pillar
    Note

    1x patch bolt, T25, 2.5 Nm

    

57. Remove tape from LH racetrack trim

    

58. Install LH welcome plate
    Note

    8x clips

    

    

59. Install LH upper C-pillar trim panel
    Note

    6x clips

    

    

60. Install fasteners securing LH upper C-pillar
    Note

    1x patch bolt, T25, 3 Nm, 3x screws, T20, 2 Nm, Install new patched bolt

    

61. Install LH C-pillar mid trim
    Note

    9x clips, Install front section first, then work around to rear

    

    

62. Install screw securing LH C-pillar mid trim
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm

    

63. Install rear trunk sill trim
    Note

    4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Make sure to seat liftgate seal properly, Install new patch bolts

    

    

    

64. Install RH trunk sill side trim
    Note

    4x clips

    

65. Install LH trunk sill side trim
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

66. Install rear load floor

    

67. Connect first responder loop and then 12V negative terminal
    Note

    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

    

    

    

68. Install HEPA filter housing
    Note

    Align opening on back of housing to HEPA filter outlet duct opening, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration

    

    

69. Install frunk assembly
    Note

    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Hand start all bolts first then tighten with tools

    

    

    

    

70. Install frunk carpet
    Note

    2x connectors

    

    

71. Install under hood aprons
    Note

    4x aprons

    

72. Close hood
    Note

    Press firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

    

    

    

73. Close all doors and liftgate except for LH front door
    Note

    Via center display > Controls

    

74. Calibrate falcon doors via UI
    Note

    Via Controls > Calibrate, Required after 12V and FRL disconnect

    

75. Verify charging system operation

    

    

76. Raise LH front window

    

77. Close LH front door
